Show me my new room {TAG Kocoum}

Opal had followed her new half brother to his castle: he seemed to look forward to show her the palace, but as soon as they got back he was forced to leave, his presence was needed elsewhere. Opal was left with Kocoum, who was still carrying her light bag and that now had the duty to show her her new room. Opal had gathered that Soma wished to show her the rest of the palace himself, so she wasn’t going to ask to see more. Beside, she was quite tired, so she was glad that the tour had to wait a bit… on the other hand, she was glad she was not alone: she had to face so many changed in such little time… she wanted at least some company, it didn’t matter if it was from a stranger. “I-I can take the bag, if you want… I didn’t want to give you this burdain…” she murmured shyly, walking next to him

He smiled down at her. "Are you saying I am too frail to carry your bag Opal?" He asked smirking a little. Raising an eyebrow at her teasingly.

As Kocoum replied to her, Opal rose her glance to look at him in surprise, her eyes wide open: she didn't quite catch the teasing, she wasn't used to that "No! No absolutely, I-I'm sorry... I didn't mean to say such thing... I d-din't want to... offend... sorry" he stuttered back, blushing and looking down again, mortified

Kocoum only laughed. "I was joking Opal." He said brotherly ruffling her hair. "You are going to have to get used to that here." He said leading her to a door and opening it and showing the girl her room. "Your brother is going to try your sense of humor too sooner or later." He said letting her go through the door first.

Kocoum's laugh only made her blush more, but she still smiled to him "I-I'm sorry, I... I'm just not used..." she mumbled back. There wasn't much space for teasing and humour in the education of a silent sister... but she guesse he was right, she had to get used to it. She kept following him and when he opened the door she stepped in with a "thank you", but as soon as she could get a look around she turned back to Kocoum with a surprised expression "There must be a mistake, this can't be my room!" It was so big, and so luxurious... it definitely couldn't be hers!

He couldn't help but to smile widely at her reaction. "It sure is your room." He said simply stepping in and placing the bag with her clothes on her bed. "You are Soma's sister and as such you get the best." He said nicely.

he looked once again around: she had never been in such a luxurious and excessive room... "I'm only his half sister..." she underlined shyly with a pained smile, her family had always made her really aware of her beinh a bastard, she was and never could be properly part of a family... or so they taught to her "I don't deserve this much..." she smiled apologetically.

He walked to her and placed his hand on her shoulder. Causing her to look up at him. "You might be a half sister by blood, but he will consider you a full sister none the less. And the people shall do that too." He said gently to her. "You just have to convince yourself that you deserve this treatment."

She looked up at him, her mouth still disclosed for the surprise. As he finished she lowered her glance again "I do not think I can do that... but if that pleases him, I shall accept it." she replied in a soft smile "I don't understand why he's being so kind to me... why you all are" she continued after a short while, expressing her honest confusion and disbelief

He frowned a little. "Why would do you think we shouldn't be kind to you?" He asked gesturing her to take a seat.

Kocoum's question surprised her quite a lot "Ah... I... I don't know..." she stuttered, sitting as Kocoum suggested "It's just... you have no need to, and I'm... well, I'm not really important" It was hard to explain what was just the feeling she had grown up with, she was accustomed to her situation of inferiority... it wasn't like her family hadn't been kind to her, but... they had always shown coldness as well, she knew they kept her cause they were forced, not cause they wanted to... but Soma, and Kocoum... they were being so gentle, and there was nothing that could force the prince and his guard to be so...

He looked at her and felt a little sorry for her. "Is it because you are a bastard?" He asked. "That you don't feel like you do not deserve to be treated nicely because of that? Or that you haven't been treated decently for that very reason."

Opal looked again at him, unsure of what to say "I... ah... it's... it's not like I haven't been treated fairly..." she smiled, blushing a bit: she had no intention to say something bad about her family, from her point of view they did more than they had to. She smiled apologetically "I might just be too used to the life of the silent sisters..." she half-murmured, before she shook her head "It's... it's not important, I'll just try to get used to... this"

He only nodded. So she wasn't ready to share her issues. Or had some problems with letting herself lose. That was fine. It was up to her to take baby steps in whatever direction she chose. "You know my aunt Tyene is a religious type. If my grandfather had not come for her she would have probably become a septa." He smiled softly to her. "You will find a way to get used to all this. Even Soma." He joked.

Opal smiled gently and her eyes shone with interests as Kocoum mentioned his aunt's vocation. She chuckled at his joke about Soma and she couldn't help but feel incredibly thankful for his kindness to her. "Was... was it hard for her to get married? For your aunt, I mean..." she asked, trying not o show how close to her heart the question was.

Kocoum thought about it. "I think she was the most easiest to get along with out of her sisters. Although she was just as lethal as the others she found love still. My grandfather described her nature like water. I think there is some Dornish inside you still. You just have to let it out."

Dornish inside her? She wasn't sue what he meant, and that wasn't exactly what she wanted to know. She just wondered if a woman devoted to the gods could find happiness in another path... and of what cost. But she wouldn't ask that out loud, after all her path was written, she had no power to change it. "Thank you" she replied shyly, not really sure if that was something she had to thank him for.

She had fallen into silence again. "You are welcome." He glanced at the door. "Do you want me to leave? So you can rest before Soma's tour around the palace."

"Ah!" Opal didn't want to be rude, she didn't mean to force him to leave, but she had to admit she was really tired, she had quite a heavy day... "I'm sorry, I don't want you to think me ungrateful, or that I don't enjoy your company..." she blushed in embarrassment, hoping he would forgive her

He just smiled at her. "You don't have to be sorry. I am not offended. You just enjoy your rest." He said moving to the door and turning to look at her one more time. "If you need something don't hesitate to ask for me."

She smiled back to him, standing up as he did so to escort him to the door "Thanks... again... you're really kind" she smiled again to him. She knew she was being really repetitive, and she wished she could express better how grateful she was for his attentions. She bit her lower lip and then, suddenly, before he would leave, she closed the short distance between them and quickly hugged him. She didn't make that contact last long, and she blushed strongly right after that, but she hoped she could make it clear in this way that her gratitude was authentic.

Kocoum surely was surprised by her sudden outburst of emotion. But it was nice. He placed his hand on her back and patting it gently hugging her in response. "See? Feels nice doesn't it?" He said letting her pull away when she wanted to. "Now take your time to settle in to your new room. And rest." He said leaving out of the room.
He wondered if Soma would be jealous that the girl had hugged him first before his brother.

She only smiled and nodded at his question, her cheeks still burning for the embarrassment, but she didn't regret her actions. Maybe he was right, maybe there actually was some dornish inside her... she wondered if she wouldn't be more keen to hug and have physical contact if she hadn't been forbidden such things for so long... but obviously she had no way to know. As he left her, she greeted him with her hand before he closed he door, then she turned around and took a new look at her new room. It was immensely big... she was afraid she could get lost in her own room! But when she sat down on her bed... oh my, she had never been on something softer! With a little smile on her lips, she laid down, it felt like she was laying on a cloud and it didn't take long for her to fall asleep...
