The waters are dark and dangerous my lady (tag:Amelia)

The neck was known for many things though few truly knew that the white knife river cut right into it, and through the knife were many caverns that poor their waters into the neck. It was an old path she had not swum in ages. Though she shed her tail for human legs standing upon the marshy ground feeling the pain fresh legs brought to her with each step but eventually she grew numb to it. bare from her to toe with only her long red hair to cover her as she walked she was her for her own reasons the top most being the flowers that grew in this marsh were a favourite of hers and despite the threat of reptile monsters she was happy to collect them weaving them into her hair with a smile and a hum not caring at the odd sight she must be....

Amelia  was on her way back to Castle Cerwyn. She loved horseback riding, and any chance she got to do so, she took. Even though she was royalty she always did what her commoners did. It seemed most fair to her. Amelia slowed her horse down, as she had to let him rest and take lunch. As she slowed Amelia surveyed the land and spied Ariella. She grabbed her towel as she climbed off the horse and went up to her, "Excuse me miss, Are you okay?" Amelia questioned approaching the unfamiliar girl.

As she sat braiding her hair she hummed that hum turned into a song which echoed in her voice thinking herself alone for the time being half her hair now decorated with the lovely blossoms.

Halting her music when she heard a womans voice calling her, which was strange enough as is, she had drowned very few women enough to remember to count which was 24. Most were incidentals of her sinking their ships, though some were more personal. It was not her favourite sort of game for women were often hardly won over by a fragile looking face. Though she was apt enough to remember when a lady needed to be modest, blinking and pulling her knee up to her chest effectively covering herself. Watching Amelia approach she smiled at her "...miss? tis been too long since I have heard such words, they are almost lost to me" purposely speaking cryptically not sure what role to play for the woman before her.

Amelia chuckled on her way to Ariella "It's alright Miss . . . . Sometimes when we go without things . . . ." Amelia hesitated throwing the towel around Ariella's body. "We tend to lose them, until . . . ." She walked over her horse and grabbed both of her double-bladed axes noticing she had on gloves. She put the axes up and took the gloves off. Amelia grabbed a basket and one double-bladed axe and placed it at her side. Walking back over to Ariella with a basket and a second towel. "Here Miss . . . . Do you have a name?" She handed Ariella the basket full of clothes. "See if any of those fit." Amelia laid out the other towel on the sand and sat on it.

Ariella stayed there having the towel thrown about her she did not mind but had yet to ever understand the human's need for modesty for a body was simply a body. Then again they could not withstand the cold as she cold, by any human standard Ariella should be shaking like a leaf from the cold but she didnt feel it at all. Taking the basket silently she opened it looking at the clothes inside her eyes shimmering as she gazed at Amelia

"You are very kind to a stranger..... though I suppose once I speak my name we will be strangers no more... though I doubt you would welcome my full name so I shall simply tell you my nickname, you may call me Ariel"

Taking from the basket a simply large shirt casting the towel aside and slipping it on as it fit around her like a night dress. she was very petite.

No, not that one! That's my . . . . Amelia thought to herself, but then let it go as she turned to the stare at the sea."I am kind when when somebody is not around to remind to be so I have to remind myself for the people." Amelia got up and went over to her horse, and bought back a lunch basket. "Want some Miss . . . . what did you say your full name was?" Amelia offered to share her lunch with Ariel as she laid the other towel beside hers. She took the double-bladed axe on her persons and put at the top of her towel after putting one glove and leaving the other not gloved. "Even friends are still strangers after they get a name though, for lack knowing how the other acts at all times. . . ." Amelia starred down at the her axe. Her husband had made her wary of her surroundings. Amelia took a bite of a finger sandwich while watching her surroundings.

"I never gave you my full name.... you never gave me your name" She responded the curled her words back to the point she had made about names. Then she noticed the food basket and her eyes danced a moment it had been a long time since she had human food, and the little part of her craving sweets a delicacy unknown to the sea made her come down from her rock slowly. She was cautious more so seeing the sharpness of the axe, though soon sat upon the cloth with the noble woman as her bright red hair moved with her like a vibrant curtain

"If you have anything sweet I may steal I would owe you many thanks, hehe perhaps a favor... yes I believe that would be in order if you had such a treat" ah yes her one true weakness other than music was her affliction for sweets, a trait solely her own for music was a weakness of her entire kind but as far as she knew she was the only one to have tasted sweets.

This girl was sharper than most who hung out with Amelia. She gave her that much. Amelia hesitated a bit before declaring, "You have good hearing. My name is Amelia Cerwyn." Amelia watched her expressions as she sat took a seat next to her. Deciding whether or not she would make a good ally in her head. Amelia unconsciously pulled all her hair to one side of her face and smiled."You want something sweet?"

Amelia had to think about that for a minute. She did not used to travel like she did before. She looked through the contents of her basket, finding fruit tarts, and half of a blackberry or blueberry pie. Amelia could not tell as the colors looked about the same to her. "I have Tarts and half of a pie . . . . You can have the pie. . ." Amelia offered putting back the ten tarts she had. She would never give up tarts for anything. Seeing that girl had a weakness she laughed, but was very cautious of what she said. "Sweets for a favor? What kind of favor is it? Because I do not mind giving sharing with people what I have favor or none . . . ." Amelia rubbed her head as she felt a headache coming and continued eating her finger sandwiches.

"if you think I would not remember something that simple you are insulting my intelligence" she responded with a curt tone that spoke volumes that she did not like in any way being considered simple or common. But she smiled a near grin when sweet were mentioned almost turning into a purring cat just hearing the fact she could get a sweet treat.

Her eyes flashed over the pie remember sailors who had mentioned missing the sweet treat from their wives or mothers. It made her quite interested on what to think of it. Completely enamored with the pie she did not notice Amelia's looks "tis a tradition of my people... something given for something gained, your shirt for my hospitality... now you hospitality for a favor, tis not something you shall reject. For one day you may find need of it"

"I do not mean to insult your intelligence it was supposed to be a compliment. My sincerest apologizes." Amelia bowed her head at Ariel apologizing for her backhanded compliment. She took off her other glove and out her hands in the sand. "I truly did not mean it in a manner that I was higher than anybody. I still have work do on myself." She checked to see if she had any more pie because she did not want to carry anything that she knew she would let spoil. If she did she would like to give it to someone who would not let that happen.

"I do not reject your favor either. I just believe it to be a different concept from my own. A broadening of my horizon if you will. Your tradition sounds fascinating." Amelia smiled as she looked over to Ariel, away from the ocean. It was nice to be in the company someone new for a while. It had been getting a bit lonely at the castle for her without her husband. Not that there was anything wrong with it. Amelia loved the castle and all the people in it, she was just so used to having her husband around that it made the castle feel a bit empty. "Care to tell me where you're from Ariel? I do not believe I have seen you from around here, Westeros, before." The feel of the sand beneath her hands and the smell of the sea felt good to her.

Ariella enjoyed her time playing with the human woman, who was more fascinating than most human men. The strange woman simply lounged like some kind of cat or fairy to take in the ground beneath and the sky above in a big stretch of movement more animal than human as she yawned softly nibbling upon her sweet treat happily but quite vigorously too. Seemed like the woman was starved or just really like pie.

Bright eyes looking to Amelia as she smiled "Yes well I do believe your kind deal in gold.... I do not see the point of such things, it is pretty yes but it is hardly worth any true thing for it cannot defend you or keep you warm and many of your people seem to lose their heads over it be it coins or crowns. The traditions of my people are older than old and if I were to tell you where I was born you would not believe me"

"Ah, yes, gold . . . . ." Amelia lightheartedly commented on it with a chuckle. "I understand what you mean. Tis a silly thing to worry about, which is why my husband and me try to avoid it as much as possible . We favor teamwork, loyalty, and hard work over gold most of the time. Encouraging our people to help one another, to trade, and barter; rather than than worry about gold. We personally reward, and help those who work together; rather than those who work for coin." Amelia face lit up as she talked her husband, pulling in her knees trying to hide her slight blushing, embarrassment and sadness. She missed him greatly as she pursed her lips together to try not to think about him.

She turned to Ariel watching her in fascination as she ate like she had never seen pie or rather sweets before. Much like a wolf hunting down its' prey and eating for the first time in a few weeks. This Ariel girl still somehow managed to look ladylike while eating pie in an almost animal-like way. A feat Amelia had trouble mastering during most events. She looked down at her axes briefly, and then away quickly so as not dwell on the thoght of her husband. Amelia ate her finger sandwich and rubbed her head again. So far her headache had not gotten worse and she wanted to keep it that way, for now.

Ariella finished off the food happily as she heard the human prattle on and on about her husband it was quite dull but she sounded content well perhaps offering to drown her husband would not go over so well. The mermaid would have to think of a new gift for her new friend then.

Seeing the woman rub her head again she raised an eyebrow before moving to sit back up and look at her ".... are you ill?" she asked quite plainly

She smiled once she had finished devouring her meal and only sighed happily laying down and watching Amelia, listening to her everyword. Lounging like that she almost looked like a lazy crocodile as she stared, giving nothing away neither smirk nor frown other then the unsettling predatory gleam in her eye more commonly found in wolves or dangerous men rather than half dressed lounging women. But soon she moved to her back and turned her gaze to the sky ".... there is to be a storm soon, I suggest you hurry along your path"
