Walking in the starlight • Jane

The garden was beautiful, thanks at the light of the moon it was possible to see everything: the path, flowers, plants...
It was very calm and silent, it was late after all and everyone else was sleeping.

"Just us in the garden..." Garrett chuckled turning to Jane and Cedric. Obviously he wasn't expecting to see a lot of people, at least not at that time!
"There's too much silence, though...." Cedric stretched his arms walking backwards to face his siblings "We should make some noise!" he laughed, not watching where he was going. After a few seconds Cedric bumped into a bush falling behind it.

Jane admired tha garden in the moonlight: it was so beautiful, such a romantic view... for a moment a part of her wished to have again John by her side just to share such a romantic moment with him, but she knew she would have been again shy and nervous by his side and in that moment she just needed to relax, she wanted nobody but her two brothers.
"Goodness, no! No noises, Cedric!" she immediately replied to her brother, worried he could maybe wake up someone, but as she saw him fall behind a bush she left Garrett's side to run toward the other brother "Cedric! Are you allright?"

Cedric laughed when he found himself on the ground. He really didn't see the bush coming.
"I'm fine!" he chuckled massaging his back "Just a bump..."

Garrett couldn't help but laughed as Cedric fell on a bush. He followed Jane and came closer to them.
You're a real idiot! Garrett laughed sightly giving an hand to Cedric to help him. Like usual he was doing his best to distract Jane from all her thoughts.

Jane couldn't help but laugh as soon as she saw that her brother was fine. Without even realizing that, her worries slipped away, leaving her more relaxed.
"You really are!" she agreed with Garrett, still laughing

Cedric grabbed his brother's hand and got up on his feet.
"Whatever..." he chuckled cleaning himself from leafs and dirt "Next time I won't fall!" he winked at them smiling. Seemed like Jane was finally having some fun, they just needed to free her mind from upcoming worries.

Garrett turned to the garden and smiled
"Do you think it snows here when it's cold?"
Snow was a recurring element on Bear Island - besides bears - maybe that would have helped Jane to fell like at home.

"I do hope so!" she replied to her brother's question with a dreaming glance at the trees, immagining them covered in snow. She surely did love the sun and spring days, but snow was a huge part of her life and she didn't wish to get rid of that as well.
"I can just imagien how beautiful it could be around here with the trees covered in snow!" she remarked

"Me too.." Garrett smiled watching at the trees "Indeed, it would be beautiful! And it would be like Bear Island, without the bears."

"Imagine how many snowmen you can build in this garden!" Cedric laughed pointing at the vast expanse in front of them. Building snowmen was his favorite thing to do when it snowed, after snowball fights of course.

She nodded a bit at the though, knowing deep inside that without her brothers, without her family, no place in the world would have been like Bear Island, but for now she could at least pretend and play with her immagination.
"I could make a whole army of snowmen!" she exclaimed laughing: she enjoyed making snowmen as much as her brother did.

"Exactly!" Cedric laughed turning to Jane "And of every shape!"

Both of them knew that she would miss home, miss their family, but they also knew that one way or another Jane would also fell at home in Riverrun, with her new family.

"Can you imagine that?" she kept laughing at the idea "I could conquer the whole North with my snowmen army!" the idea seemed terribly amusing to her, probably cause she was really tired, or maybe cause she really needed a good laugh and even something as silly as that could work or that.
"I wish you could be here in winter..." the words slipped from her mouth before she could think it wasn't really a good idea to bring the discussion in that direction. She didn't want to think about when she could see her brothers again, somehow it felt like a goodbye forever to her, and even if it was not, things were still going to change, they wouldn't stay the same...
But she didn't want to throw that on her brothers, they were trying so hard to stay by her side and make her feel better...

Cedric laughed, have an army of snowmen would be awesome! He could already see it, with Jane leading them.
He sighed as Jane spoke again "Of course we'll come in winter!" he smiled trying to reassure her "We'll come every time you want!"
Garrett smiled and passed an arm around her shoulders "You can't get rid of us so easily." he smiled winking at her.
