Attack of the Kraken

It was almost as if the Drowned God himself was sending signs. It was a colder day than usual, a bitter cold at that, where everyone was feeling it. The ship was making loud creaking noises, slammed by large waves that began to become heavier and more erratic. Some of the more superstitious crew members thought that the Leviathan was reaching the edge of the world, but regardless of what it was--people were beginning to panic. Crowds of them began to walk onto the deck to ask what was going on, but Naveen just simply ignored them and sent them to his brother to complain to. He kept his eyes on the water, watching it carefully. He tapped them to every irregular wave, counting them in his head.

As he counted to four, the entire ship was rocked again and a couple of people screamed as they were pushed back from the heavy hit. Naveen ran to the edge of the top deck and pointed to whoever was there. "EVERY MAN TO THEIR STATIONS! Weapons out! Prepare the cannons! This is not--" his orders were interrupted by a loud crash onto the bottom deck.

A long, dark-colored tentacle slammed into the center of the lower deck. The ship came to a heavy halt and pushed around everyone, as the tentacle wrapped itself to the bottom of the ship. Standing up from the push, Naveen looked down to see the damage. "IT'S THE KRAKEN!" He hollered as the face of the beast erupted from the water, shrieking as it towered over the vessel.

Anya was taking a nap in her quarters when the unusual waves began. Just as she was rising, a loud and powerful jerk sent her out of bed and into the wall beside her door. She looks up at the ceiling. Did they hit something? But then she heard the snapping and crunching of wood not too far away.

She opens her door, sliding one of her boots on to discover a tentacle in the middle of the ship. Anya stands still, goggling at it. What is it? It slithers back up through the ceiling, allowing her to race through the hall to the stairs. Anya reaches the deck just to scream out in fear at the sight of the kraken towering over the ship. Anya looks to Naveen. The crew is scrambling to fight. But what does she do?

Anya races up to Naveen, hoping for no retaliation, she yells, "I need one of your swords!"

Naveen had been tossing swords from a barrel down to crew members, who were beginning to climb onto the beast to attack it.

"Anya!" He remarked, after she came up to him. One of the last things he wanted was for her to get hurt, and he wasn't sure exactly how hard that'd be. "What are you doing up here? It's dangerous!" Naveen hesitated for only half of a second, not sure what to do. Other crew members were starting to run up to receive swords. Time was of the essence. Before she could say anything, he handed her the sword. "....Only to protect yourself, get out of here and don't do anything stupid!"

What was she doing here? "That creature just broke a hole through the entire ship! Where else am I supposed to go?" She demands, truly inquiring the answer.
"'Stupid'?" She echoes, snatching the sword. "I can take care of myself! I don't need your blessing!" She barks at him, utterly offended that he believes she can't do the slightest bit of damage and that he lacked faith in her abilities. But she did feel the slightest bit happy that he gave her the sword at the very least.

He hears her yelling at her and he just blinks at her, glancing behind her occasionally to see the crew fighting. Neither of them really had the time to be having this kind of argument. Where was Sinbad?

"Okay sweetheart, I got it. You can fight." He looks back to her and speaks dryly, a mix of both irritation and cooperation, mostly to shut her up, grabbing a hold of his very own sword and seizing it firmly in his free hand. "Go make yourself useful then!" He barked back.

Anya frowns, her eyebrows turning down in frustration. She somewhat liked when he said things like that to her. But not right now. He's undermining her and all she's done is ask for a sword. "I will!" She declares. "You make yourself useful, Captain." She turns away from him.

"You've got to be kidding me!" Sinbad shouted out loudly as the people that scrambled to whine to him had scattered to gather up their weapons to defend themselves from the kraken. And he was having such a good sleep too. Until the damn ship had started to rock erratically and he woke up to screams and the sounds of wood breaking. He pulled out his sword, and headed over to his brother when taking notice of him and that girl. And it wasn't that hard to see that those two were arguing once again. Even during this kind of situation? 'Can you two quit the bickering?" Ironic that they had to fight off some damn beast that his house decided to make their symbol.

Anya raises her eyes to Sinbad, her mouth dropping in disbelief. "I didn't do anything. It's all him, he's always insulting me!" She gripes, pointing her sword at Naveen's throat mindlessly. She then whirls and marches away, helping the crew fight by sticking her sword into one of the tentacles and yanking it out. She had never fought a monster before. It should be really challenging since they're on a boat, right? Anya agrees with her assumption as she has to steady herself by grabbing onto one of the ropes.

Naveen frowns to Sinbad's comment, only to jump back a little when Anya nearly cuts off his throat with sword! "Hey, watch it!" He yells to her. She was crazy, but he didn't have any other options at this point.

The sound of cannons booming begin to launch at the beast. He sees the shadow of one slowly emerge above Anya and a few other crew members. Glancing up quickly, he runs to her quickly and grabs her by the waist. "Hold on tight." He holds onto a rope and cuts the line, propelling them upward high above the ship, away from the tentacle. Before they can say anything, the ship rocks one more time and they're swung backward, directly over the icy cold water. "And don't look down!" He says with a grin as he tightens his grip on the rope and her, waiting for the ship to rock back into place.

Anya gasps when Naveen is suddenly grabbing her by the waist, shocked but more scared when the deck suddenly disappears from under her. Her free hand balls the back of Naveen's shirt up as she holds onto him. She tightens when the ship sways and their trajectory drastically changes.

She goggles up at him when he says not to look down, staring at the grin on his face, admiring his bravery and bold behavior. He really is a pirate, isn't he? She looks forward and grins too, cheering as she slices the tip of another tentacle that came at them, sending it back towards the kraken.

"Whoa!" Sinbad shouted as he backed up a bit as she pointed the sword at his brother's throat before whirling around with the damn sword! Did she even know what the hell she was doing?! He watched as she marched over towards the fighting crew, stabbing one of the tentacles. Sinbad gave out a loud annoyed sigh as he gave his brother a look before running off to help a few of the other crew members. By the gods, those two better not get themselves freaking killed, Sinbad thought to himself as he sliced at the tentacles, protecting his crew mates.

Out the corner of his eye, he soon caught side of his brother swinging up in the air on a rope with that Tyrell girl with him. Instantly the boat began to rock, causing him to grip the railing tightly and curse under his breath. Seems those two were having fun. Him? He just wanted to live, dammit! He scoffed a bit under his breath before rushing across the deck, slashing at the tentacles that lashed out at the ship.
