Elysium fields (tag Caollaidhe)

The ravens had barely flown to tell the dire news that had devastated house Tully just before. And now Tycho had been shouldered with responsibilities he had never thought he would have to shoulder. All the while he had to cope with the sadness of losing his own parents and uncle and his wife and his cousin and his wife. And the unborn children. Oh let the mother be kind to them.
Tycho sighed and looked at his beloveds belly. Caressing it as she was laying down beside him.
He was glad that he had managed to keep her from the cold clutches of the plague. Hoping the children would be born to safer lands than they were in now.
At times Tycho hardly could manage keeping himself together in the midst of all this craziness. "Cao?... Are you sleeping yet?" He asked kissing the top of his wifes head gently.

Cao opened her eyes and looked at her husband. "Not yet.", she reached her hand out to him, and pulled him closer to her, laying her hand on his neck. Cao kissed him gently. Tycho looked exhausted and tired. "Are you alright my love?", she asked slightly worried. Times had been hard and the loss of beloved ones still layed in a dark cloud over them. She sighed and sat up. "I'm always here for you. Tell me what keeps you busy and sleepless. I promised to be loyal till the end."

When the plague came over them, she had feared it would have an effect on her and the baby but somehow it didn't. Still she wished the lord and his lady could've had the same luck.

He sighed happily that she answered to him. Running his fingers through her soft golden locks. He didn't want to go to sleep with these thoughts running through his head. These insecurities.
"I wonder..... I wonder how every lord of Riverrun before me has managed to shoulder all this responsibility.... They all died in quick succession.... That I am both numb and overflowing with the loss and also overwhelmed of this new position I have come to inherit...."
He hugged her closer. "I fear I am not ready for this. Or maybe that I do not deserve this. And what if I fail..." He paused for a moment again. "And I fear for you and our babies... What if they get sick too..." Kissing her lips softly. "I doubt I could live without you."

Cao took his face in both her hands. "You will be a wonderful Lord. You told me you learned it all at young age. And even if you make mistakes, that's nothing to worry about. I'm always beside you and will help you as much as I can. I learned to be a lady too after all.", she gave him a short kiss. " I'm not acting like one but I can be one."

She stroke softly over her stomach. "We are fine. The doctors are checking me daily.", she frowned and poked Tycho's nose. " I guess because you ordered it. I won't leave you. Never. My heart is yours and you're the only one to have the power to break it into pieces.", Cao played her head on his chest and closed her eyes, listening to Tycho's heartbeat.

He sighed. "I know. It just isn't the same thing to be taught to be the ruler than to actually rule. And I was given up on when John grew old enough. Even I thought that. And I was happy that they gave up on me. I was able to learn things I wanted and do things I wanted." Smiling down at her. "Like marry you for instance." He said kissing her cheek.
Placing his hand on her belly. Feeling a kick against his palm. That made him flinch slightly, then laugh softly. "Does that hurt?" He asked placing his hand back on her belly.
"I would never choose to shatter your heart. It simply put means too much for me." He said taking her hand and bringing it to his lips to gently kiss it.

"The best thing you ever did.", Cao chuckled. She layed her hand on his on her belly and smiled softly. "No, it doesn't. It shows me everything is alright. Only when I try to sleep it is kinda annoying from time to time, cause it keeps me awake.", she looked at Tycho and her eyes showed all her love for him. "But I don't mind, I can watch your sleeping face."

"Don't fear too much. Adam is here and he will help you as he helped John. You know that you can rely on your brothers in this case. And becoming Lord after you learned other things, things not necessarily needed, doesn't it give you more opportunities in how to rule?", she smiled softly.

"I know that I have Adam... I am just not sure if I can rely on Eric when I need to.. He is pledged to the Nightswatch. He is bound by oath not to take part in the matters of the kingdom." He caressed her stomach. "It's just me and Adam until you decide to gift me a son." Kissing her lips gently. "Which is not that far I hope."

Caollaidhe looked at her husband. "He'll be a baby first. You still have to wait a few years, before you can rely on him", she kissed Tycho's nose. She was sure she would lure her son away from studies from time to time. There was no doubt he had to learn how to rule, but she was against strict lessons. How should they keep fun in what they did if they were forced to do it?

"I'm sure you can rely on Eric. He might swore not to take part, but there are a lot of ways to help, eventhough it looks like he wasn't taking part."

Tycho smiled fondly. "Yes, that is true. But then I wouldn't have to worry about heirs anymore." Kissing her cheek.
"I know I can. Just don't know how much."

"Ask him?", she answered hopefully. Then wrapped her arms around him and layed her head on his chest. "Or shall I ask him?", she looked up to her husband. "Maybe he will answer me easier.", then a soft giggle came out of her mouth. "As long as you aren't too jealous at your brother."

"It would make a few things easier, if I can give you a heir at the first birth.", she closed her eyes. "They would give me more respect.", she chuckled bitterly. "Like a woman is less worth if she just gives birth to girls."

He sighed. "I can ask him the next time I see him." He said. Running his fingers in her hair again and smiling softly.
Although he felt a little jealous over the bond between his brother and his wife, it didn't mean that he distrusted her. By no means, he knew she would be faithful. But it could be partly because he wanted to have such close relations with his brother too.
"Show me this person who thinks you are worthless and I shall make them regret such thoughts." He said half serious. He meant it to make her laugh, but would surely act on it if he needed to.

"I'm going to tell you, when I find the first one.", she gave Tycho a short kiss on his lips and giggled. THen she frowned and layed her hand on her belly. The baby kicked her again. "It's really active these days...", she sighed. "Stop being so worried daddy, it makes the baby restless.", she teased.

On the other side it made her happy to feel the baby so often. It meant it was still alive, and she wasn't going to loose it. That the illness kept away from it.

He smiled widely. Kissing he cheek. "Perhaps he is just eager to get out and get into his mothers arms." He teased her. "Ready to have you spoil him with kisses and hugs." Kissing her cheek again. "I think I might get jealous for all the attention he gets from you..." He kissed her lips.

Caollaidhe wrapped her arms around Tycho'a neck and layed down, dragged him with her. "I'm sure you spoil it yourself. It will be a hard time to get attention from you. I already need to lure you away from work from time to time.", she smiled lazy. Cao lifted her head to kiss him passionately.

He chuckled. "Well you do know how to persuade me." He said gently running his hand down her back to her rear.

Her smile widened. "Really? How?", she pulled him closer again, to share another kiss. " Was that a reason you married me?", her voice got a teasing sound.

He chuckled. "No I married you because I didn't want anyone else marrying you while I was gone..." He caressed her upper arm with the back of his hand. "And I loved you of course. Is that reason enough?" He teased her.
