Special Event #3 Wedding of Nita Reed & Garrett Mormont

It felt weird now that Garrett put the cloak on her, she was no longer a Reed, wearing green-gray colours. Now she was a Mormont and officially Garrett's wife. She smiled as he caressed her cheek, it felt like she had butterflies in her stomach. For a moment, she almost forgot to breath as they moved closer to kiss each other. She never had kissed someone before, expect of her father, grandfather, and even Grand Master Ra's al Ghul when she was a child. Kissing someone at their cheeks was one thing, but this was different. What if he didn't like her kiss? Their lips touched, his lips were so soft. For a moment it felt like it was only them in the world, and she enjoyed it as Garrett held her close.

Garrett let her go softly and watched her in the eyes, lowering his hand. His heart was still beating fast, but it wasn't for the nervousness of before: it was for all the feellings the kiss brought up. He did enjoyed it and deep he knew -at least he hoped to know- that Nita enjoyed it too.

He smiled at Nita and took her hand, they both turned to face their guests: the ceremony was finished it was time to celebrate with the banquet and maybe even some dances.
As his father announced the beginning of the banquet, Garrett and Nita still holding hands were escorted towards the great hall where the banquet was hold, followed by the other guests.
They would share the table with Nita's family and the Mormont's.

Jeor had been observed the whole ceremony with the rest of his family, proud and happy at the same time of Garrett and Nita. Despite their obviously nervousness, they finished the whole rite smoothly.
As they turned towards the crowd Jeor walked towards them and hugged the new couple, then turned towards their guests and indicated the Great Hall.
"Let the banquet begin!" he clapped his hands together and headed towards the hall. He sat down at the main table with the newlyweds and the rest of the family, waiting for everyone to come.

It was difficult for her to hold her tears back as the ceremony started. Never in her life had she felt so proud, but at the same time, sad and empty. Nita was her only child and now she was married and a Mormont. Nita was no longer a Reed, but the line would continue. When Nita would get her own children, she would give heirs to Bear Island and Greywater Watch. She applauded among the others as the couple kissed each other. And the way they both looked each other in their eyes, it was obvious for Meera to see that they loved each other, and that made Meera happy. When the ceremony was over she gave both Nita and Garrett a hug. "I'm so proud of you," she whispered to Nita. Then they were all heading to the banquet. But she was a bit worried as the banquet started, she knew Robert well and if he drank to much... No, she wasn't going to let him destroy the this. She would keep an eye on him. If he even dared to say or hurt Nita, then she would make him pay for it

Still holding hands with Garrett they walked to the Great Hall where the banquet began once they sat down at the place of honour. The dishes were served and she only took a few sips of the wine. From time to time she looked at her mother, there was something that troubled her. She didn't like to see that. She wanted her mother to enjoy this. She herself was still a bit nervous, but it started to slip away. She was married to the most kindest man in the world. She smiled, she wondered how he would react if she told him about her vision of their first born child when they were in the Neck together.

Kayley had to smile.  The ceremony was so touching, so loving.  She thought she saw more than one person in the crowd get tearey-eyed.  That seemed to happen a lot at weddings.  It all seemed to happen kind of fast, though.  In less than an instant, Garrett and Nita went from engaged to married, with only a few words and a kiss.  It was kind of amazing, how that happened.  She applauded along with everybody else and followed the crowd to where the banquet was going to be.  Luckily, there was more than enough room for everyone, and Kayley quickly took a seat sort of the near the two families involved.  She would say hello to the newly-weds when there was an opportune moment.  No doubt lots of people would want to say their congratulations and what-not.

Cedric followed his family and the other guests into the great hall, sitting at the main table with the others. As the dishes were served he kept moving his look from Garrett and Nita to Nita's mother: he couldn't help but notice that something was indeed bothering her; but he couldn't imagine what was the problem. However the whole atmosphere seemed a bit tense, he needed a 'diversion'; just to relax the atmosphere of the party.
As the dinner was over and no more dishes were coming, Cedric woke up from his seat and with a wave of the hand, the musicians began playing.
"A toast for the couple and for their first dance!" Cedric smiled winking sightly at Garrett and Nita, especially Garrett. He just needed a push to start enjoying his time with the new bride and only he could help his brother do it. After Garrett and Nita finally woke up too and opened the dances, Cedric came closer to Kayley, who wasn't sit down too far from them.
"Lady Kayley, would you like to dance?" he asked bowing sightly as other people joined Garrett and Nita on the dance floor.


Garrett moved his look around the table, observing the faces of the guest, wondering if they were having fun or not, when his gaze lingered on Nita: she was smiling, enjoying the dinner and the drinks. At that point Garrett was like infected by her smile, smiling in turn. Why shouldn't he?
However as soon as his brother woke up and the music started to play, Garrett's smile faded a little immediately understanding what he was going to do: not that he didn't want to dance with Nita, but the idea of doing it in front of so many people didn't appeal him. Even if they just had to open the dances. But the die was cast, at that point he couldn't stand back; destroying his fresh wedding.
So he woke up from his sit and bowed at Nita "Would you like to have this dance with me?" he asked offering his hand to her.
They walked to the dance floor hand in hand, and there they finally opened the dances.

Nita was caught by surprise when the musicians started to play their songs and melodies. But even so, she smiled when Garrett bowed, asking or a dance. "I would love to!" she replied and took his hand and they walked to the dance floor, hand in hand. She had more butterflies in the stomach, her heart was beating faster as he held around her waist with one hand. And when they opened the dance, she was enjoying it. She looked into Garrett's eyes, hoping that he really did enjoy this to.

Dinner seemed to be over in a flash, and to Kayley, things still seemed a bit tense.  Maybe Garrett was just nervous?  He had always been the serious type, the kind of guy that preferred to stay in the background.  Of course, Cedric was the exact opposite, which never failed to make things interesting.  Even now, he got some musicians together so people could start dancing.  Kayley felt like that was a good idea.  Dancing tended to loosen people up.  She smiled when Cedric asked her to dance.  "I'd love to," she said as she took his hand.  A good dance was always good in her mind, and Cedric was a pretty good dancer himself.

Eilonwy had been seating with her mother and father the whole time, silently following the whole ceremony. She could see her brother was quite tense but she knew that he liked the bride, and she could also easily see why... she was stunning!
The ceremony was over quickly, as well as the banquet: one would think that such things go on forever, instead in a blink it was already time for the dances, and Eilonwy had fun looking at both her brothers get on the dancefloor, Cedric had even just invited Kayley!

Daemon was sitting at the Reed´s table with Greta at his side of course and as well with enough distance between them and her father. Just about to enjoy the wine he watched the dancing to start with first the newly wed of course who though were joined by many others now, not too long after the beginning. He took a quick look at Greta. Did she wanted to dance too ... well, did she want to dance now? Almost sighning he got to know that his favorite piece of drinking had to wait for now and his wife was first now, not that he hated to dance anyways. Letting his chair move back he stood up and offered Greta his hand. "May I have this dance my dear?"

Of course it didn´t take long for her to accept so not long after the question was spoken Daemon already was leading his wife to the dancefloor.

Greta followed with her eyes her cousin: she was nervous, but she looked happy... and her groom was quite nice too. Now she was sitting next to Daemon, se had enjoyed the banquet next to him but carefully avoided the wine... she couldn't be sure yet, but, well... if there actually was something growing inside her... well, it was worth no to risk anything stupid.
As Daemon invited her to dance, she glanced at him, slightly surprised: that was quite romantic... not that she didn't believe him able of romanticism, but at that stage of their relationship romanticism sounded almost useless... Still, she had to admit she appreciated it.
"Why thank you." She replied with a smirk, getting up and following him on the dancefloor.
"You're quite a good dancer." She commented like she was surprised: she knew she was good at dancing, and she liked that as well, but men actually able to dance with grace were quite rarer than one would expect...

As he and Nita started to dance Garrett forced himself to not look at his feet, but keep his gaze on Nita. After all it would have been really impolite from him, if not rude. With his heart beating faster with every moves he couldn't help but smile at Nita.
"I'm afraid I'm not a good dancer like my brother..." he smiled sightly whispering to her as they kept dancing.


Cedric's smile widen as Kayley accepted to dance with him; he took her hand and walked towards the dancefloor. Last time he saw her dance was in King's Landing, so that was a good occasion to have again some of that fun.
"An excellent dancer as that time in King's Landing!" he chuckled "Having fun?"

"Of course.  I always have fun when I'm dancing," Kayley said as she spun around.  Of course, half the fun of dancing was whoever your dance partner was, and Cedric was certainly good at it.  It almost reminded Kayley of Akhesa, and how good of a dancer she was.  Of course, both of them danced very differently, but still, both of them were good at it.

"I think you're doing great!" Nita whispered back to Garrett, her gaze on Garrett. She had never thought herself an excellent dancer like Greta was. She noticed that Greta and Daemon had joined in the dance as well, sending her cousin a smile as they danced past each other. She was happy that they joined, since they never got to dance at their own wedding. Even Kayley and Cedric joined too.

Garrett smiled back at Nita, it didn't matter if she said it just to make him happy or if she really thought it: in the end they were having fun and he did like her, so it didn't matter at all!
As the song finished Garrett bowed to Nita, ready to go back to their seat when someone from the crowd yelled: Bedding ceremony! He wasn't sure who actually said that, all he could do was standing in front of Nita, not sure of what he should do.

"Oh-oh..." Cedric tilted his head to Kayley "Better leave the field open." he laughed sightly as someone from the crowd yelled the two infamous words that he was sure no bride liked at their own wedding: bedding ceremony.
He took Kayley off the dancefloor again where the tables were, better not be entangled in that mess.

Nita felt much more calmer now that Garrett smiled to her. She spun around and placed her hand on his shoulder again when she was face to face to him. Her heart was beating wildly as she looked into his eyes again. He was so amazing! She really felt lucky to have him as her husband for the rest of her life. Nita smiled while they still danced. She really wanted that this moment could last forever. The music stopped and Garrett bowed to her. Nita hoped that she might be able to find Greta and have chat with her, but then she heard someone from the crowd yell: Bedding cermonony! Now it was Nita’s turn to swallow nervously. She recognized the voice, it was Uncle Robert! No, Nita thought. Why did uncle Robert have to destroy this right now? She almost jumped when she felt a hand stroking her cheek as the men gathered around her, she began to tremble when uncle Robert whispered in her ear: “Try to please him, if you can!” She could smell that he had drunk a lot of wine. A tall man lifted her up and placed her over his shoulder, she clung to his back like a frightened cat. They already started to make jokes, she couldn’t hear what one of them said, but she was sure that she didn’t like that joke. Her hand turned into a fist, lifted it and broke uncle Robert’s nose. Everyone just laughed and the men began to take of her shoes, throwing them away and while uncle Robert was standing there with a broken nose, she caught a glimpse of her mother, Greta and Daemon standing together in the hall, screaming with laughter.

Meera had observed Robert during the dinner, but in the end she had to enjoy the festivities, chatted with Ra’s al Ghul and sipped the wine. She felt so proud when the couple were out the dance floor and danced together. Even Greta and Daemon had joined them. But Meera couldn’t help but stiffen when she heard Robert scream: Bedding cermonony! Curse Robert! Meera thought and suddenly stood beside Greta and Daemon. She wanted to strangle Robert for this. She saw that Nita was pale when the men gathered around her. If only she could do something to calm her down. She then saw Nita’s fist that struck and broke Robert’s nose. For a moment Meera was silent, but then she began to laugh. “Like mother, like daughter!” she said to Greta and Daemon. Meera had also broken Robert’s nose during her own bedding ceremony when she was younger. But Robert had deserved it at that time, and he probably deserved it right now! Greta and Daemon joined the laughter. Right now, Meera didn’t care that they laughed at Robert.

Kayley glanced up when she heard the words "bedding ceremony" yelled by somebody in the crowd.  Oh dear, she thought.  Bedding ceremonies were always a bit chaotic, what with everyone carrying the bride and groom out so they could consummate the marriage.  She took Cedric's advice and followed him off the dance floor, lest she be caught in the chaos.  Everything seemed to be going according to plan, until Nita punched some guy right in the nose.  Kayley winced.  That had to hurt.  "Did I miss something?" she asked, glancing up at Cedric.  Who was that guy?  Had he done something to upset Nita?  She didn't seem like the type of person that went around punching people for no reason.

As the men started to gather around Nita, Garrett was immediately surrounded by the women who were starting to take off his shirt and shoes; while everyone was pushing both him and Nita towards his bedroom. Everyone was laughing, making jokes, but Garrett could barely hear them in that confusion: he was trying to look at Nita, trying to see what was happening to her. He turned in the exactly moment when Nita was punching her uncle, despite the moment he couldn't help but smile: he would ask later why she did it.


Cedric couldn't help but laugh at Kayley's puzzled expression "That's Nita's uncle: Robert Reed." he explained smiling at her "Not the nicest of men, especially if he drinks too much... and apparently the man who yelled 'bedding ceremony'!" he laughed.
He did met Robert a few times before the weeding and he didn't make a good impression to him or the rest of his family. Of course they couldn't do a lot about it, just make the best of a bad job. For his part, Cedric did tried his best to avoid him or at least spend less time with him. He wasn't a nice man, but throw his niece into the bedding ceremony with so little respect for her; that was bad.
