Wedding plans

Garrett made a quick bow to his parents and Meera, then he followed Nita to the garden.
He stayed in silence as they walked, pondering in his head what to say or, better, what would Cedric say? He bit his lip, why wasn't he good as his brother in that kind of things!

"Do you like animals?" he suddenly remembered about Jane's chatting that he and Cedric eavesdropped, she started to ask random questions and somehow it worked.

"Yes, I like animals," Nita answered with a smile. "I really like cats, and falcons. What kind of animals do you like?"

Garrett turned to Nita, she seemed at her ease now and not surprised by his random question. A good thing, at least now they were having a some sort of conversation.

Garrett couldn't help but smiled "Bears..." it sounded a little funny in his opinion, he was the future lord of Bear Island, an island populated by bears and his favorite animals were bears! A passion that he obviously shared also with his brother.
"But I like also dogs..." he said trying to return with his feet on the ground "We have a few at home..."

Nita smiled. Bears. How cute. "Do you hunt?" she asked carefully. "What kind of weapon do you prefer?"

"My brother likes to hunt." he smiled "I go with him sometimes... when I was little I used a slingshot, but now, if I should go hunting... a bow." Garrett titled his head, he didn't use to hunt a lot, at least not like his brother. Always too busy with the training and the lessons, Cedric instead had more free time so he liked to spend his time hunting.

"To be honest, I'm a bit more hunter than a lady. I use a spear," Nita said after a little while. There weren't many weapons the crannogmen used. They used nets, bronze knives, frog spears, and round leather shields. This was Nita knew. "I hope you don't mind that I ask. But could you tell me a bit about Bear Island?" She really wanted to know about Bear Island. She knew that when they both got married, she would live at Bear Island.

Garrett smiled sightly, he imagined that she preferred to be a hunter. Even if he couldn't deny that in their few meetings, Nita did prove that she could act as a lady too.
"No problem.." he turned to her, of course she wanted to know more; whether they liked it or not, Bear Island would become her home sooner or later. "It's a big island with a lot of trees and bears... what else?" he paused, what else could he say? Not that there were a lot of things to say. "We live mostly on the coast, it's cold, but I think that you're used to it." he smiled sightly, even in the Neck it was cold.

"Then I guess it must be really cold when it's winter there," Nita replied. "But yes, I'm used to the cold here." Nita remembered when she was a child and it was winter. She had spent a whole day building a snow castle in the garden. She didn't notice some of the cats running toward them while they played. She almost stumbled when they ran at Garret and her, but Garret was quick and grabbed her arm to make sure that she didn't fall.


(Just a little thought of maybe they could get a little spark of feelings there for each other. If you don't like it, I can change it.)

Garrett smiled and moved his look to the path. At least Nita's change wasn't so drastic like Jane's: the weather in the North was almost the same. And Bear Island wasn't so different from the Neck, expect only for bears.

He raised his look, a horde of cats was running towards them.
"Watch out!" Garrett quickly grabbed Nita, who was almost falling for the cats, and moved her closer to him, to be sure that she wouldn't fall again. As soon as the cats disappeared in the shrubs he moved his look towards her. Was he still holding her?! He immediately let her go, blushing sightly and moving his hand behind his back. Why did he keep holding her?!

She looked at Garret when he moved her closer to him. "Thank you," she said after a while. He looked at her before he moved his hand from her, blushing slightly. She blushed too. He was really cute when he blushed and handsome. Her heart started to pound when she looked at him again.

"It's nothing..." Garrett cleared his throat and tried to recompose himself. Why was he blushing? He just 'saved' her nothing more. She was just an acquaintance - an acquaintance that he had to marry - but nothing more.
But he couldn't stop to blush, his cheeks still sightly red, and his feelings were like fighting in his mind. At the moment he didn't know what he was feeling.

He started walking again, slowly, like he was waiting for her to follow him.

She started to walk by his side again. What was happening, what was those feelings inside her? "How many siblings do you have?" she asked suddenly. She had only met Cedric and Eilonwy at the coronation. And Garret had barely mentioned Jane when the Queen arrived the throne room.

Garrett walked slowly, trying to not look at Nita. Only the Old Gods did knew what was going on there! What he was feeling was new for him. Was it the nervous? Was it love?! He didn't know, and a part of him didn't even want to know it! But how could he ignore those feelings?!

"Siblings?" he turned to her, almost surprised by her question. He cleared his throat.
"We are in five if you count also me." he smiled sightly "There is me, Cedric, Jane, Eilonwy and Damian." they were in effect a big family, of course he and Cedric were unexpected: their parents didn't expect to have twins, but it didn't stop them to have other kids.

Perhaps it was a stupid question? Nita thought when Garret almost looked surprised by her question. "You're lucky who have a big family," she said. "I always wished that I had siblings too." She had grown up with her mother and her grandparents Howland Reed and Jyana, who had given her lots of love during her childhood. But if only her uncle Jojen had been alive, he could have taught her a bit of skinchanging. She barely looked at Garret, she wondered when she should tell him about her ability. Garret and his parents would stay for a few days, so she had still time to figure it. "I you want," she said slowly. "I could show you more of Greywater and The Neck. When you want to of course. It's not much to see when it's dark." She wanted to hide her face. Why did she feel like everything she said was stupid? He must think that I'm weird!  

"With so many siblings you always have something to do." Garrett smiled at Nita's excitement for his big family "You never get bored." Of course Garrett used to spend most of his time with his twin, but they managed to pass some time with the other siblings. Less time, but still a good time.

He turned to her and smiled sightly, he still didn't know what exactly he was feeling for Nita and every step closer to her made him more and more confused than before. And it seemed that Nita had his same thoughts.
"Sounds good..." he couldn't refuse her invitation, his mother would have killed him. And a little part of him did liked to stay with her, even if he still wanted to escape and return home.

Her started to beat faster when Garret was closer to her and she smiled when he accepted the invitation.

Garrett walked slowly back at Greywater Watch, they would see the Neck another day.
Plus he needed to spend the night alone, trying to put in order all of those odd feeling he had.
