We need to talk crow!

"You're not going back into the wild!" John added quickly. Not in the seven hells that he would allow that while the threat of the white walkers still were more dangerous than ever. He felt tired of all the thinking. He was silent for a moment, then he dressed himself. He needed some advice, and he knew from whom he could ask. The master of the Nights Watch was a father figure for everyone here, even for John himself though he never admitted it.

At his answer Naerys just sighed, finished dressing herself and just stayed where she was for a moment before she went over to John and gave him a kiss on the lips. "Take your time to decide my beloved crow. I will be back in some hours."

John enjoyed the kiss from Naerys and held her close. It felt so good to hold her near him. He nodded after Naerys spoke before he headed toward the master.

The master didn't seem to find a problem with this. In fact, it just looked like he received the news that he was going to become a grandfather or something. John had almost forgotten that Master Iroh loved children, though he never had any children nearby. "Finally," Iroh said excited. "You don't seem to understand the problem here," John said with a flat voice. "If everyone knows this, then it will be problems!" "I see it more as a great opportunity," master Iroh replied. "I think this will unite the nights watch and the wildlings even more." "And if they see it that I try to be the king beyond the wall?" John asked coldly. Master Iroh snorted. "Don't be ridiculous."

Naerys was currently training some of the younger free folk people when she suddenly heard a loud sound as if someone was screaming "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?". At first she went back to the pupils as if nothing happened but then she remembered the direction the sound came from and whose quarters were there. How could she have been so thoughtless? Of course would seek the maester for advice, the old man who was like a father for everyone, even her, and not to mention he was the one who got the last doubt out of her about the pregnancy. Immediately she got someone else watching and teaching the pupils while she headed to the headmaster and rushed inside the room and even almost forgot to close the door behind her.

John was in shock. He was sure that he had lost his jaw somewhere. "M-m-m-m-m-married?" he stammered and was suddenly pale. How did this happen? They didn't exchange vows or something and there was defiantly not a bedding ceremony either. The world started to spin around him and he fainted on the floor. "But lord commander," master Iroh said and rushed to him waking him up. He waved a cloth at John's face to give him some air as Naerys rushed inside. It was then John woke up. "How did this happen?" John asked almost whimpering. Master Iroh just chuckled. "What's done is done," Iroh replied.

As Naerys saw John lying on the floor, almost as pale as snow she feared for the worst. Did Iroh just tell him even the last of her secrets? Either way she kneed down next to John and looked at the maester concerned yet a little angry. "What happened?"

"I thought that you had told him," Iroh replied with a apologized voice. John felt dizzy as he rose up in a sitting position. "When?" he asked Naerys as he looked at her. "When did we get married? And how?"

Naerys sighed but then gave Iroh an angry glare. Just why did he have to tell him? Things surely have been already complicated enough. However soon enough she turned her attention back to John. "Remember that big attack when you took me with you to your castle and I struggled and fought you as much as I could during the ride? Also I even did warn you! Anyways, that´s how marriages are done in the free folk traditions. However these are MY traditions and rules so you can take it that way that I am only bond to you while you yourself are still free."

John sighed. "That explains why you hit me a lot!" John replied as he recalled that time. "Look it on the bright side, you're the one who was the worthiest if I might say," Iroh said with a big grin. John glared daggers t him before he pointed toward the door. "Go and feed your ravens or something!" John commanded angry. Iroh didn't need to be asked twice an leaved the room.

Naerys just joined Johns glare at Iroh. If looks could kill, in that very moment Iroh would have been a dead man. Still with one thing the maester has been right. Only John succeeded in marrying her while others failed badly trying.
Once Iroh had left the room though Naerys let out a sigh and calmed down, at least as much as possible. "Well at least now you know even the last of my secrets."

"Think I couldn't have taken any more secrets right now," John replied and sighed. "This is a very complicated situation," John said after a while and rose up from the floor. If someone else had seen this, he surely didn't know what to do then. "I didn't know that I followed your peoples tradition with marriage. But all of us men here are not allowed to marry here." Maybe I'm starting to follow the footsteps to Jon Targaryen after all! John thought. The queens father himself once also tried to help the free folk when he was the commander himself, though it almost costed him his life during that time. John scratched his head while he was thinking.

"I know!" Naerys almost shouted and stood up just to give John an angry glare from above. "I am very aware of all that, that´s why I didn´t want to tell you in the first place. Also in case you didn´t listen, if you wanna take it that way YOU are still free as a bird. Only I am bond."

"You don't have to scream!" he almost shouted back to her. "I may look free to them but in their eyes, you're my lover, so you might say that also I am bond to you in a way!" John growled and crossed his arms over his chest and leaned back to the wall. There was some silence between them, but slowly, the curiosity crawled into his mind. "So... who else tried to marry you and failed?"

"Nobody of importance." She hissed back after they had ended their silence. "Just a few free folk men, more and less higher in rank and abilities."

Somehow he got the feeling that chief Thorir was one of them who had tried to marry her. His body started to shaking and he screamed out in laughter. "I wish I had seen it!" he said chuckling. He could so imagine it, his Naerys fighting against them and all of them with lots of bruises. She would be so perfect as lady commander of the nights watch.

Naerys just rolled her eyes though smirked as John bursted out in laughter. At least he was still able to laugh after all. However soon enough she got serious again. "Glas you have your fun but we still need a solution. What about your supporting farms though? I could go there as offical escort with other pregnant women which would only be a burden here and there maybe we could do anything of use."

But I don't want you to leave! John thought. "I don't know really," John said. "I need you here with me. If Thorir got to know that you weren't here anymore, then the deal would probably be broken. So you might say that you're the peace meditator here!" John said with smile. He peeked out off the window and saw the life going by outside. Things had changed a bit after their marriage, some men still despised the free folk, while others had gotten used to it and even made some friends with them. Maester Iroh himself was the most friendliest man and had gotten friends with everybody very quickly. John always wondered what it was with him that made everyone like him so much. And Johns own steward had gotten some attention from the younger girls from the free folk, sending him some teasing looks toward him and made him blush. Maybe Iroh was right. Perhaps this was a great opportunity to get two groups with people closer.

"Oh I can deal with Thorir don´t worry." Naerys assured him while she just had to smirk about it. After all it sure was fun to have quite an impact on powerfull men. Then however she moved closer to John to hug him. "I know times are changing and as much as I want to be with you every single second of my life, we can´t risk that your own people see you as traitor and try to kill you. You and I for sure have enough enemies already."

"To the hells with them," John mumbled. He didn't like the thought to send Naerys back into the wild again. Especially not when she was with their child. He could always command someone who didn't dislike Naerys to stand guard over her. And besides, John could always take care of himself.

"John." Naerys said in a demanding tone while she gave him a serious look. "Do not take more risks that are needed, you hear me!"

John sighed heavy. He then turned around and hugged her tightly. If it just had been easier. Maybe he should send her to some of the farms not far away from here. If others joined, then she could be safe and Iroh could check on her from time to time.

"You do know that this is not a real answer yes?" She said as she poked him in his face yet returning the tightening cuddle.

"I know," John replied. "I was just trying to think."
