Away from Home [Tag Opal]

Loki inhaled deeply the fresh air, already feeling himself relax after yet another long day of playing dressup and good little maid. Could the old-fashinoned pricne get any more lazy than he was? Or did the old man really just crave attetntion that muc? Either way, it wouldn't even come out as a shock if it turned the prince needed hs servants to feed him as well. Loki had pretty much had to act like a god damn nanny who did nothing but spoil him. Had he ever acted like that, back when he was still considerd a noble himself?
Loki grimaced at the thought, and decided to just focus on his short time away from that snobbish royal, and be happy that he didn't have to walk around in those shoes. His feet were fucking sore. Maybe not the smartest to be walking around barefoot though... I've been through worse, he mentally reminded himself, longinly glancing out at the water.

After Opal had visited her cousin and after Kocum had left her, Opal had spent as much time as possible in her room, but even a quiet, calm girl as she was would grow bored after a while. She didn't want to go much, she just wanted to find the sept of King's Landing and pray, that wasn't such a crime, now was it? She wasn't looking for funny activities, she had no intention to look around or spend her money in the big city, she just wanted to give her homages to the Gods, that was good, wasn't it? Well, maybe the Gods didn't agree since they decided not to help her out and she still managed to get lost. After a couple of hours, she found herself outside the city, on a bay: though she was quite nervous, she couldn't help but notice that the view was beautiful. And immediately after she realized she wasn't alone... She bit her lower lip, unsure on what to do: should she ask for informations? She wasn't sure it could be such a good idea...

Loki more felt than heard that he now had some company, but didn't make any move or gesture that he knew. Instead, he merely stayed where he was, unmoving from his little spot and just enjying the view and fresh air for another moment. If this person wantred something she'd just let him know. ...or not, the theif mentally added when another moment of silence passed, still feeling the eyes of whoever it was standing behind him. He sighed tiredly, turning his head slightly as he glanced over his shoulder at the girl. "Can I help you?" he asked flatly, exression completley blank as he quickly scanned her over. Well, doesn't she look out of place.

She was still trying to figure out wether she should or should not ask for informations, actually thinking that the latter option was the best one and starting to move away, when the boy's voice made her jerk in surprise "Ah! I-I'm sorry... I... I didn't mean to disturb you... I-I'm afraid I got lost, I was looking for... a sept... if you'd be kind enough to point me in the right direction, i'd be out of your way" she stuttered with a shy smile, looking down and shifting her bodyweight from one foot to the other

Loki didn't reply at first, and just let a couple of silent second ass between, and maybe deliberately making it a little awkward. Hey, he's been playing nice and good for a stuck-up for days now, he deserved to let loose a little at least.
"Sorry, can't say I know where one is myself," he finally said then with a small shrugg, turning fully around this time so eh was facing her. "I'm not from around here, something we share in common apparently," he pointed out smugly.

She sighed as the boy said how he didn't know where the sept was: apparently she was destined to have no luck that day "Well... t-thanks anyway, I won't bother you any longer. I wish you a nice day." she greeted him with a gentle smile before she turned giving him her back and starting to move back toward the city, wondering if she would be at least able to find her way back to the inn... she was starting to doubt that too.

Shy one isn't she, Loki casually thought, quircking an eyebrow at the girl when she stutterd and felt the need to excuse herself. Not that he really felt bad, but somehow he got the feeling she'd end up more lost than she already was if he simply let her wander off like that. He sighed and rubbed the back of his head. Being more than experienced with having no idea where to go or turn to, he more than just knew what it felt like being lost in a new place.
"Hang on there, little Bright-eyes," he called out, quickly cathing up to the girl and placing himself infront of her. "I may not know where the closest sept is, but that doens't mean I ain't willing to try help you out," he pointed out flatly, giving her a friendlier smile. "I promise I don't bite," he assuerd her, trailing off as a thoguth seemed to hit him. "Well, most of the time I don't."

Opal was already walking away when the boy placed himself in front of her, offering her his help. She blinked in surprise at the nickname he gave her, but she decided not to comment, and just chuckled softly at his joke about biting, even if she didn't really get what he meant with the second part. "Well, thank you, your offer is really kind and I really appreciate it." she bowed a bit her head while thanking him "I'm afraid it's too late for me to keep looking around for a sept, but... if you would still be so kind help me find my inn..." she smiled shyly to him, hoping he wouldn't fine her too annoying for asking such a thing "I-I can reward you for your time" she added, immediately fishing from her pocket the few coins she had with her and placing them in his hand: seeing how he was dressed, she didn't really need to ask if he needed money...

Loki quirked an eyebrow again at the girl's shy but very sweet and kind behavior, apparently having underastimated her kind persona to some extent. Or maybe he just wasn't used to these sort of positive response from people. Well, normally Loki never botherd to help or offer people something, he kinda had his own fair share of thigns to deal with. But on the very rare occastions he did, he onlly either got accused or threatned in return.
He was about to reassure her again that it was no problem, really, but before he could even open his mouth the girl had already placed the coins in his hand. He gave the money a blank look, before glancing up at her again with the same expression. NAIVE, was the first thing to echo inside his ehad as he took her in, taking her hand in his and returning the coins. "Don't just throw money at whatever stranger who offers you help, might as well be a rapist or murderer you know," he flatly stated, flicking her on the nose. "Besides, i'm more than capable of getting money on my own. Now, let's find this inn of yours," he finished cheerfully.

Opal was quite surprised when the boy returned her the money, but she didn't insist: she didn't want to end up being rude toward him. After all, she could fina other ways to reward and thank him later on. "Rapists and murderer won't be distracted in their intentions by a few coins, and when I receive kindness I have a moral duty to repay it somehow" she smiled shyly shrugging softly while justifying herself. "Thanks again, really." she thanked him once more bowing her head before she started looking around, trying to remember the direction from where she came from "I came from there... I think... And the Inn was a small one, directed by a red-haired woman..." she tried to remember all that she could about the place while she started walking

Loki just gave her a lazy shrugg, knowing she had good point from more than just experience in that field but decided to play none the wiser. "Please stop bowing, no need for such formality out here" he chuckled as she bowed again, ruffling up her hair as she looked around them. Following her gaze, he couldn't help snicker a little again when he realized just how lost she was, and taking the lead he took ehr by the hand and staretd to direct them in her opposite way. "I think know which one Inn you mean."

She nodded at his request, making a mental note to at least try to cut off formalities. And even though this much contact was deeply unfamiliar to her, she didn't complain. He wasn't the first boy of his 'kind' he met: back when she was an apprentice with the silent sister she spent most of her days with people from the street, as this boy looked from. Sure, since she was a with the sister they showed them more respect, but she wouldn't complain now about how the boy was treating her now: he was being friendly, after all, even if that was making her feeling a bit uncomfortable, she felt welcomed as well. "Really? That's a relief!" She said with a big smile, following his lead "I-I'm Opal, by the way... Opal Sand..." she shyly introduced herself, hoping that the boy would do the same

This girl was a little to cute for her own good Loki couldn't help but think, wondering how much luck she'd have to have made it this far without getting attacked and taken advantage of yet. He glanced over his shoulder at her when she shyly introduced herself, giving her a friendly smile in return. "That's a quite the pretty name," he chuckled, though being honest with the compliment. "I'm Loki," he introduced himself simply, intentionally leaving out his lastname. He hadn't used it since over 9 years now anyway.
He slowed down some so they were walking side by side instead, snorting a little in amusent at her shy behaviour. "Relax already, we'll find your Inn in no time," he chuckled, ruffling up her hair.

Opal smiled to him, blushing a little at the compliment "Thanks... Loki" she replied, using immediately his name, thinking he got himself quite a pretty name but finding quite unnecessary saying so. As he slowed down, ruffling up once again her hair, she closed her eyes, enduring that once more "I do trust you and I really appreciate your help so I hope you won't find me rude but... please, oh please, stop messing up my hair!" she whined with a sweet voice and puppy eyes, trying to fix them once again after Loki's hand had ruffled them up.

Loki just grinned at the girl's whine, keeping his hand up and hovering over the top of her head as she tried to fix her now mssed up hair. Good to know she could speak up when something didn't please her, the theif had almost gotten a little worried there. Well, not like he'd really stop being annoying anyway. "I'll try not to then," he chuckled, flicking her on the nose instead before focusing back on the road ahead of them. "But no promises little bright-eyes~"

She was glad he didn't mess up her hair again, sure, having her nose flinched was slightly painful but even a delicate thing like her could stand such a gesture. "Well, I do hope you'll manage to keep your word, even if it's not a promise." she replied to him with a smile, but even if she actually hoped so it was evident she didn't mind his manners. Then, as she stared at the street, she finally recognized where they were! "Wait!" She said, stopping thrilled and forcing him, who was still holding her hand, to do the same "I know where we are: the tavern is right there!" she was happy to finally have found the way home but suddenly realized that the boy might even leave her there now: after all, she didn't even need his help anymore... and she hadn't even had the chance to repay him yet... "Ehm..." she started shyly "It's... it's almost dinner time, and... the person who's traveling with me is really busy, he won't be here... would you maybe like to join me?" maybe in this way she could at least offer him dinner, and she was even making it look like he was making her another favor...

Loki looked over towards their destination, slightly surprsied at how easy it went but happy for the girl's sake at least. Just as he was about to let go of her hand and be on his way, she caught his attention again, acting all shy and polite once more. What a cutie.... if she wanted company she could've just said so. THough, it was the offer of possible free food that lured him. "There's always room for free food," he said brightly, giving her head a pat. "Don't be so afraid to ask for things, it's not like you're hurting anyone," he chuckled. "So, lead the way~."
