PostSubject: An Unusual House-Guest (Tag: Loki)   Tue May 12, 2015 11:58 pm

Kayley and Loki managed to make it back to Winterfell in record time.  Kayley just wanted to get Loki fed before he passed out or something.  Not that he looked weak in the knees or anything.  But still, she wanted to make sure that he was well taken care of before going on his way.  It looked like her parents weren't home at the moment, but Kayley was sure that they wouldn't mind her bringing Loki in, even if he wasn't the usual house-guest.  Surely, they couldn't turn away a wanderer that was hungry, right?  She brought Loki into the dining hall, which was more than a little empty at this point.  "Take a seat anywhere.  I'll get some food out for you," she said before quickly talking with the servants.  They seemed more than a little perplexed at the stranger Kayley had with her, but they soon bustled off to do as she said.  She turned back to Loki with a smile.  "Not a bad dining hall, huh?" she said as she walked towards him.  "Sure, it's not as grand as King's Landing, but hey, it's one of the best in the North."

Loki just enjoyed the free passage he got into Winterfell, for the moment nothing but content at the hospitality Kayley had been so nice to offer him. Not that he'd really been expecting anything else, but Winterfell sure was a nice stronghold, a nice change of environment from King's Landing that's for sure. It really did remind him of home, which at the same time did nothing but help that uncomfortable knot of longing in his gut, the more he thought about it.
Shaking those kind of feelings off, the theif merely smiled and waved back at the bewildered servants who agve him strnage looks, not botherd in the least by it. So he happily took a seat as Kayley instructed him too, humming on an old eeire tone as he paitnnetly sat down and waited to be feed. Nothing really was better than free food.
"King's Landing can't even compare to this," Loki snorted, comfortably leaning back in his seat. "Unlike here, they don't even know what the word 'cozy'," he smirked.

"Oh, you've been there before?"  That was interesting to hear.  Truthfully, Kayley had only been there once, and that was for Marina's coronation.  But she remembered the place being very pretty, and warm too.  Loki didn't seem as fond of it, though.  Then again, Kayley had been in a fancy-schmancy palace.  Loki probably hadn't gotten the royal treatment.

"Yeah, several times," Loki answers casually, apparently not seeing any big deal in it. Sure, King's Landing had it's pretty and impressive things too, but when it all came down to it Loki still much prefered places that reminded him of his old home, like Winterfell. Or places that just wasn't too overly fancy, made it hard for him to fully relax perhaps. And people in those places were to much of a stuck-ups for his tastes.
Now, the only reason he's willing to go bakc there would be beacuse of that Targaryen bastard...

Loki didn't provide many details, so Kayley felt like it was best not to ask anymore questions.  Although she was curious about his experiences in King's Landing.  Sure, it had been the place of many violent acts in the past, but things were different now.  Westeros was peaceful, as far as she knew.  "Where else have you been?" she asked.  "I bet you've seen a lot of interesting places in your travels."

The theif gave the girl a found smile, recalling all the many different places he's had the privilage to see and travel too all these years. Ever since he.... ended up alone, that is. The only reason he kept jumping from place to place nowdays, was beacuse he didn't ahev anywhere to return too.
His smile fell slightly, and once again his stomach interupted by givign out a loud groal. "How about I tell you after a I fed this," he suggested, poiting at his stomach with a grimace before pressing his forehead agaisnt the table whenit gave out another sound. He really should keep himself fed a little better....

The kitchen staff had perfect timing.  As soon as Loki mentioned his growling stomach, one of the servants came by with a platter of food for him.  It seemed like they had piled on a little bit of everything, not knowing exactly what Loki would like.  Kayley smiled, sure that he would be pleased.  Although the servants still seemed a little mystified as to why Kayley brought somebody like Loki here in the first place.  But they didn't question her about it.  "Tuck in, Mr. Wanderer," Kayley said with a cheeky grin.

All of Loki's attention immediently turned to the food the sevrants carried in, and just like that whatever had currently been on his mind was thrown out the window. Giving his kind host a wide grin, he wasted no more time tod dig in on the buffe.

Well, at least Loki was enjoying himself.  Kayley was glad about that.  It kind of made her sad though, that not everybody ate as well as she did.  She wondered if there was something her father could do about that.  Weren't their charities or other things nobles could do to help out the poor?  Kayley's fingers tapped against her knee, questions that she wanted to ask Loki buzzing around in her head.  But, she told herself to be patient, for the moment.
