Special Event #3 Wedding of Nita Reed & Garrett Mormont

(OMG. The wedding manip is so beautiful!)

Nita was surrounded by some handmaidens helping her with the dress. It was the big day today. She would be married to Garrett and be his wife. Her hands were shaking when she sat down on a chair and the maids started to fix her hair and added some earrings. She was so excited and nervous at the same time. She really felt like the most luckiest girl in the world to marry Garrett. Her thoughts went over to him and she wondered how it was with him? Was he nervous too? She closed her eyes for a moment. The only one person who was missed here was her father. She wondered what he would have thought about this wedding. Probably very excited as her mother and very proud of her. If he had been alive, he would have given her away to Garrett and send her one of his warmest smiles. She opened her eyes and saw herself in the mirror. She had never felt so beautiful before. She remembered what Greta had said to her. A woman really looked her best at her wedding day. "It's time my lady," one of the maids said. Nita just smiled and nodded. She rose up as the maids opened the door, following her to her 'father' for the day.

Greta was standing not far from the weirwood tree, her husband by one side and her aunt Meera by the other. It was a cold day and even under her warm coat she was shivering, her breath condensed in small clouds. The cold, though, wasn't such a big deal, she was far more curious than cold: she kept waiting for Nita to arrive, wondering how she was dressed. They didn't have time to talk after her won wedding, she hoped they could have time to talk after her cousin's wedding, there was so much she wanted to say and to ask!

Meera stood beside Greta, wearing a purple dress and a necklace with a green stone. She hadn't slept so well because she had a nightmare about when her brother, Jojen died. Why did it have to happen right before at Nita's big day? At least, the cold air was very refreshing and it made her more awake. She sent Greta a smile while they waited for Nita to arrive. She had mixed feelings today; she was proud, very proud that her only daughter was to be married. And she felt sad, now everything would be changed back home. She turned her head back, still no sign of Nita.

Garrett walked towards the weirwood tree with his brother. Even if he tried his best to seem calm, Garrett couldn't help but feel nervous, doubting of everything: form the wedding to even himself. How could he know that it was a good idea? That he was the right one for Nita? What if she hated him?
Garrett shock his head, so many problems! So many questions! But by then it was late, he was almost married. And even with a great girl! He couldn't ask for more. The time passed with Nita surely helped him to see clearly his feelings about her, but had it been enough?
He sighed and turned to Cedric hoping that his brother would support him during that day, maybe saving him from their mother's glares.


Cedric was walking right next to his brother, laying a hand on his shoulder: either for encouragement either to be sure that he wouldn't run away. He could clearly see what was going on in his mind, he was nervous as hell and the tension was palpable in the air.
If only Garrett would have accepted his invite to go out the evening before! Just some time to not think at the upcoming wedding, instead of struggling all the night for inexistent problems!
"Come on!" Cedric patted Garrett's shoulder "You'll be awesome! Nita will be awesome! The wedding will just be awesome!" he chuckled as they walked towards the weirwood tree, where there was also the respective families.


Jeor was standing near the weirwood tree with Anne and the little ones. He was observing quietly the people that arrived for the wedding: Reed, Tully, Lannister, Stark... it seemed almost unbelievable that they had been able to connect so many different families through different marriages. That was obviously a great opportunity for each house, more connections meant more power and more safety.
He couldn't help but smile as he finally spotted Garrett and Cedric, the groom seemed nervous while the brother did his best to calm him down. It seemed almost his own wedding. At this thought he turned towards Anne and smiled at her, with no reason in particular.
"Ready for another wedding?" he asked joyful at her.

Meera smiled when she saw Garrett arrive with his twin brother Cedric. Then it would mean that Nita soon would arrive too. She touched Greta's shoulder lightly, remembering back when Greta had asked Nita about Garrett, she smiled when Garrett took his place. She could see that he was nervous. Her own husband had been nervous too at their own wedding, so she sent Garrett a comforting smile. She knew that Nita was very nervous too, but everything would be fine.

As her aunt touched her arm pointing at who was evidently Garrett, she grinned: the twins were identical but luckily she could easily recognize the groom thanks to his clothes. "He's sooooo young!" she commented in a lowly enough that only her aunt and maybe Daemon could hear her. Well, such a comment coming from her could only be humorous, since she just married a man that was twice her age.
She took a good look at the two brothers, and especially at Garrett: he did seem nervous, thing that she didn't appreciate too much. It was just a wedding, not a death sentence! Beside, Nita was lovely, what was he nervous about?!

Meera had to use all of her self-control to not burst out in laughter. She covered her mouth with her hand and pretended that she coughed a bit. She saw that Daemon gave Greta a little grin. But Meera was more grateful that Robert didn't hear that. Then hell would break loose, and that was the last thing Meera wanted. She gave Greta a little warning look to not joke to much. Not now, but later. Greta just replied with her sweet smile.

Anne was standing next to her husband and her younger kids, waiting for the bride and the groom to arrive. She was happy her oldest son was getting married as well, and this time the wedding was actually less 'heavy' than the last one: she was going to gain a daughter, not to lose one. Jane, who was now standing next to her husband not far from where she was, had to leave their home, but since Garrett was the male it was now Nita's turn to change home.
As she saw Garrett and Cedric arrive, she noticed how tense and nervous her son was. She rolled her eyes: seriously? She had had enough of this nonsense with Jane! Garrett liked his bride, he had had time to know her and he wasn't even going to leave Bear Island, it was more than Jane had and she didn't forgive her her lack of self control, she surely wasn't going to approve if her son was going to be any less than perfect for his ceremony.
At his husband's question, noticing how happy he was. She smiled to him kindly, repressing her amusement "I can see you definitely are"

Kayley felt like there were a lot of weddings going around these days, even if she didn't go to all of them.  But, she felt like she should at least go to this one.  The Mormonts and the Starks were close.  It was only fair that she come to represent her family.  Of course, she didn't go just out of duty.  She had spent her fair share of time with Garrett and Cedric in the past, and she did consider them friends.  Although, if she was honest with herself, she hadn't visited them much since Marina's coronation.  She had just been so busy, with sword lessons and spending time with Akhesa.  But, she was here now, so she hoped that would count for something.  She slid into the room with the other guests and soon spotted Cedric and Garrett up front.  She smiled and gave them a little wave.

"Can you blame me?" Jeor smiled at Anne "A wedding is always an occasion of joy. Our family is getting more bigger and a new member will come to Bear Island."  he smiled again turning his look towards the Reed's family and noticing that they seemed excited as he was, or at least in a good mood.


Cedric's words seemed to work on Garrett, as he just nodded and smiled at his brother. A clear sign that he was -at least he was trying to be- less nervous, in the end Garrett did like Nita, he enjoyed her company and marrying her was something that he desired; not a simple duty.
As Garrett left his brother to reach the rest of the family at the weirwood tree, Cedric couldn't help but smirk observing his alldutynofun brother being nervous for his marriage, when it was clear that he did like the future bride, and neither Cedric disliked her. It would have been fun to have her at Bear Island.
He turned to see Kayley Stark waving in his direction, he smiled and walked towards her "Lady Kayley." he greeted her "It's been a while since the last time I saw you! From the coronation of Queen Marina, isn't it?" he chuckled bowing sightly at her. It was always nice to meet old friends, he and Garrett used to spend some of their time with her during the trips to Winterfell. Good times, actually. Kayley could have been a true girl of Bear Island with her passion for weapons and her temper.

Nita really tried to seem calm and less nervous, but it wasn't so easy. This was her day and all attention would be upon her and Garrett. The maids followed her through the corridors and toward the door leading outside where the others were waiting. She smiled as she saw Grand Master Ra's al Ghul waiting for her. He had accepted her family's request to be her father today. She sent him a smile to him. "Grand Master," she said. "I'm really grateful that you said yes to be my father today." It was true, really. She took a deep breath, trying to breathe normally. She had feelings for Garrett, so why was she so nervous? Probably all the attention they would get, and she wasn't really used to it. When Ra's al Ghul gave her his arm she took him and smiled. The maids opened the door and with steady steps, they were heading outside and on the way to the weirwood tree.

Anne shook her head at Jeor's words, but his smile was contagious and she found herself smiling as well. Finally she heard the crowd whispering and, turning, she could see Nita arriving: she was truly beautiful, the dress she was wearing really made her look like a queen. But she was so nervous... it reminded her of her daughter, but sure, she was nowhere near Jane, thanking the gods!

Kayley smiled as Cedric came over to greet her.  She had almost forgotten how cheerful he could be.  It was kind of the opposite of Garrett, who was usually the more serious of the two.  She nodded in answer to his question.  "Yes.  Sorry I haven't come to see you sooner.  I've been busy.  I've got so much to tell you."  At that moment though, there was a rush of whispering in the crowd.  Kayley turned her head to see Nita walking forward, with Ra's al Ghul on her arm.  Kayley had to admit, she did look lovely.  Then again, most brides tended to be.  Weddings seemed to have a way of making even ordinary girls look beautiful.  Kayley wondered if the same would happen to her on her wedding day.

Meera noticed that Kayley Stark had arrived too, and by the Old Gods, she could see a lot of Rickon Stark in her. It was so weird, so many years ago, she and her brother did their best to hide both him and Bran when Winterfell had fallen. Such a young boy, and now he was dead. It wasn't fair! She shook her head, shaking away the old memories. It was Nita's day today and it should be joyful. She turned her head among the others when Nita finally arrived with Grand master Ra's Al Ghul by her side. Words couldn't describe how proud she felt in that moment. She smiled a big smile and some tears welled in her eyes. She wasn't sad, she was just happy and very, very proud! "I really wish you could see this," she whispered in the air when she thought about her husband.

Garrett was standing in front of the weirwood tree, playing with his fingers behind his back: he didn't want to show how much nervous he was -even if it was obvious- to his mother or father, not even to Nita; he was happy to marry her, why made her think he wasn't?
Moving his look around Garrett could easily see that a lot of people had gathered for the wedding, something he would have never expected and that was making him a bit uncomfortable, soon everybody would look only at him and Nita, ready to watch every move.

He turned as soon as he heard the door opening, by the voices of the guests he could easily tell that Nita was arrived. It was time; Garrett straightened himself looking in the direction where he would have seen Nita coming. And here she was; walking by Ra's al Ghul's side and probably nervous as the groom. Garrett couldn't help but smile as he saw her: she was indeed very beautiful, at that sight a part of him almost forgot where he was and what he was about to do, it mattered only Nita and him. But unfortunatly the other side was well aware of the situation bringing back Garrett to reality as soon as Nita was approaching the tree.

"We should totally talk during the banquet." Cedric smiled at Kayley, he would have enjoyed to spend more time with her, but the bride was coming and he had to stay with the rest of his family. If he was late for his brother weeding only the old gods knew what his mother would have done to him! "I want to know some of the news." he chuckled waving his hand at her and hurrying to join the rest of the Mormonts.
Cedric couldn't help but keep his gaze rather than on the bride, on the groom: still nervous but strangely happy as he saw the bride, making Cedric smile to himself.


Jeor smiled as well: making Anne smile was a sort of personal challenge for him, making his day when he succeeded. As the doors opened, Jeor turned to see Nita with Ra's al Ghul; the man agreed to 'escort' her till the weirwood tree, a noble gesture from him towards the Reeds. Jeor smiled again and turned towards his family, noticing that finally Cedric had arrived, then he moved his look towards the weirwood tree. The ceremony was about to start.

So many people. Here for her wedding. The air was a bit cold, but it felt like the wind caressed her cheek as she and Ra's al Ghul was on their way. Everyone looked at them. She saw her mother, Greta and Daemon Lannister. She sent them a smile and once she saw Garrett, her face lightened up. He was really amazing and so handsome, and his smile made her heart beat faster and she felt warm inside. They passed through the guests and now she was standing beside Garrett as Ra's al Ghul let go of her arm and took his place beside her mother. She sent Garrett a smile. She wanted to show him that she was happy to be his wife.

"You look beautiful..."Garrett whispered and smiled back at Nita, even if he could feel all the looks on him somehow Garrett had managed to stay calm. He had never liked being observed: not when he entered in a room with his brother, not when he was about to get married.
Hopefully the ceremony wouldn't take too much time, moving directly to the banquet and then as in Jane's wedding to the... bedding ceremony? At that thought Garrett swallowed nervous; he and Nita never even kissed before the wedding, so how could he handle the bedding ceremony?

Kayley gave Cedric a smile in return.  Yes, she had to catch him up on everything that had happened during the banquet.  She waved back as he hurried to stand next to the rest of his family.  Both Nita and Garrett seemed a bit nervous, but happy as well.  It seemed like that was the usual emotions people felt at a wedding.  A new chapter was starting, after all.  Their lives would be totally different.  But at least they would have each other.  Kayley was sure that was a comfort to both of them.

Ra was happy to see her get married as she felt like a daughter to him at times releasing a genuine smile. After all he was never late when asked for anything but he had been cutting it close lately. He could not find the shirt he wore to the coronation and had to go buy another one that and almost could not find one, but made it just in time as to walk her down the isle. And and upon her taking his arm, he felt how nervous she was, and agreed with spoken words. "I am too, my dear. But remember," He whispered as he walked her down the isle, "These are one of the better days where every one on there best behavior because of how beautiful you look. And we cannot help it." Of course one of his eyebrows twitched, but suppressed his own feelings and wants where he sat, not wanting to ruin the wedding via his own thoughts.

"You're very charming," she whispered back to Garrett smiling. He seemed a bit calmer now and that was good now that the ceremony was about to start. She really hoped that they both wouldn't be so nervous later at the banquet. And she really wanted to present Garrett to Greta.

Garrett smiled at Nita again as she replied him, she was now standing next to him in front of the weirwood tree. Now that she was there they could start the ceremony. He did tried alone to practice with the ritual, but his mind already at the banquet and at all the things that would occur later: he didn't even know where to start thinking or acting.
Garrett took her hand and moved his look to Nita, wondering what was she feeling in that moment, he moved the free hand to touch the weirwood tree.
"I, Garrett Mormont, choose you Nita Reed to be my wife, to respect you in your successes and in your failures, to care for you in sickness and in health, to nurture you, and to grow with you throughout the seasons of life." now it was her turn.

Now that both were here, the ceremony started. She let Garrett take her hand and they both looked each other in their eyes. She smiled to him as he said his vows, then it was he turn. She moved her free hand to the tree.
"I, Nita Reed, choose you Garrett Mormont to be my husband, to respect you in you successes and in your failures, to care for you in sickness and in health, to nurture you, and to grow with you throughout the seasons of life."
She was really grateful her mother had helped her to practice with the vows. They both lowered their free hands from the tree. It was time for Garret to cloack her in the Mormonts colours.

Garrett listened Nita saying her vows, watching her in the eyes. He had to admit that it had been quite difficult to leave those eyes when she finished speaking, it was easy to find yourself lost in her eyes: so beautiful and deep, and even with great powers.
However he had to take away his look to finally cloack her with the Mormont's colors: with that gesture Nita was officially his wife and a Mormont. Only the kiss to validate the whole event was missing. Garrett cleared his throat as he could feel the gaze of everyone on him and caressed gently Nita's cheek moving closer to her.
His heartbeat had increased since the beginning of the ceremony as he moved his look back to Nita, that was a all or nothing moment: he could have looked like an idiot for kissing her badly or maybe she could even like it and maybe reciprocate the kiss. Only Nita could decide it.
