| The sun broke over the horizon when the trumpets sounded Ulrick's return. He saw the sentries ahead on the walls of the keep, and the flags bearing his house's sigil fluttered in the early morning breeze. The portcullis was drawn up to allow the returning troop inside, where the master-at-arms, Jonas, waited with other men. Ulrick looked down at the strange woman in his arms, still tucked against his chest. She hadn't talked much on the ride, and he found himself curious about the state he'd found her in. Jonas hailed him, and Ulrick pulled his horse to a stop in front of the heavyset man. Ulrick gave him commands to see to the freed slaves and wounded. He carefully dismounted and held out his arms for her, saying, "Come, my lady, we shall see about your needs." | |

| She had no intention of removing herself from being against him once in a while she shivered once in a while but that was it. It seemed she was content to simply stay and keep warm against him. When he left her side she blinked opening her eyes and turning to watch him. At first she seemed afraid seeing him upon the ground far from her but when he extended her arms she smiled and reached down slipping off the horse to fall into his embrace putting her arms around his neck to steady herself as she her trembling legs tried to steady themselves. | |

| "Easy, now, I've got you." Ulrick said softly, easily catching her. She seemed very light for her size, and it worried him. No doubt the slavers only fed her enough to keep her alive, so she was too weak to run. When she wrapped her arms around him, his skin prickled wherever their flesh met, but it was not unpleasant. "Let's get inside now and get some hot broth on your stomach." Seeing she was unsteady, he picked her up in his arms and carried her across the courtyard into the keep. As soon as they were inside, he called for the maester and the other healers for their new guests. He set Anthy down at one of the long tables in the great hall, and stepped back as a healer came up to inspect her. He felt reluctant to leave her side with the state she was in, and so stood close by. He glanced around the hall, frowning at the suffering of the freed slaves. | |

| At his voice she seemed to sigh in relief, carried inside by his strong muscles the poor dear was as light as a leaf more then likely starved. Whatever unpleasantness had happened it seemed that she had taken the brunt of the beatings. The healer did his job all the while Anthy stayed perfectly still wether she minded or not the inspection she didnt seem to react but instead always checked to make sure Ulrick was insight.
Most of the women were in fair condition, some of them even making conversation with the healers or the guards. They just seemed greatful, a couple enthusiastically so.
Anthy's worst bruises were tended too, the most troubling and disturbing wounds were the deep scarred lashes along her back some even fresh but most old only revealed when the healer had moved her long hair out of the way. He cleaned the wounds and dressed them looking up at Ulfric after trying to make conversation with the girl seeming a bit disturbed himself at the exchange of words.
"She will need constant care if she is going to have any chance of not having infected wounds, and food. Best to start on soups and not too much, she will not be able to handle much more than soaked bread after a week. But my lord she is.... certainly a foreigner, she speaks valyrian and an old form of it at that I was only able to pick out of a few words. It is no wonder that she was treated this badly the girl is from the far east. Past the free cities, the lands of darkness.... Asshai. Only demons like the fire witch Melisandre come from there. I would clean her up and toss her out the door as fast as you could"

| Ulrick sometimes glanced over at Anthy as the healer tended to her. A sad smile tugged at the corners of his lips when he saw that she did the same. No doubt she was still afraid and wanted him in sight to feel safe. He felt his temper rise when he saw the lash marks littering her body, but his expression remained calm. He couldn't stand the thought anyone would treat another human being in such a manner. The evidence before him only strengthened his resolve to wipe out slaving operations within his lands. The healer's disturbed look didn't escape him and he listened quietly as he spoke. He frowned at the last words out of the other man's mouth, and fixed him with a hard look. The healer seemed to wilt under the weight of his glare.
"We will not turn out someone in need." he declared in a steady tone. "And if she were truly like the Red Lady, she would not have been so easily kept in chains." The healer bowed his head in submission and gathered his supplies, then left them to tend to another in need. Ulrick motioned for one of the servants, and an older woman stepped up to them.
"See that she is given clean clothes and hot broth for supper." he commanded, "She will have a long recovery, so she will need more permanent lodging. Put her in the guest wing." The woman nodded and bent down to help Anthy up, while Ulrick turned away, intent on finding Aethan to discuss the next raid.

| Anthy watched the exchange with some inclination of curiosity she said nothing simply watching the men's faces glancing between the two of them. A nervousness filled her seeing the exchange watching Ulric get angry and sending the man away. Only to be approached by a old woman who nodded her head to the lord and gently began to size up the clothes Anthy would need. Before gently helping the girl to her feet.
Anthy was confused and conflicted seeing Ulrick turn away though had her in a panic for a moment "umptan!" she finally said reaching out for him but the use of her voice harsh and worn sent her into a coughing fit which brought her to her knees.

| Ulrick turned back when he heard her shout, a little startled by it. He hadn't expected her to be so panicked by him leaving. As she fell into a coughing fit he darted back to her side, and wrapped his arms around her. He ordered the female servant to bring a flagon of water and she did so, returning with one moments later. He took it from her and raised it to Anthy's lips. "Sip, it will help." he told her. | |

| Once again wrapped up she stayed against him her coughing fit ebbed finally dieing out as she looked at him muttering softly in her crack voice what could have only been an apology though it certainly hurt her to speak. When he held the water to her lips she sipped the cool liquid. It stung but for a moment until the cool refreshing effects tingled her throat and she proceeded to drink.
Looking up at him with a sad smile she once again this time softer and much less hoarse "thank... you"

| Ulrick returned her smile and told her, "'Tis no trouble, my lady." He helped her to her feet and looked to the servant again. "I believe I must accompany you and the lady lest she panic again. The old woman nodded, though grimaced at the impropriety. She turned and Ulrick guided Anthy out of the great hall. He kept a firm grip around her shoulders so no one's tongue would start wagging about lechery. The three ascended a stairwell adjacent to the great hall that led to the guest wing above, and down a long hallway. They entered the third room, which boasted a large fireplace and bed with furs, and a tall window coated in fresh frost. Ulrick led Anthy to the bed before stepping towards the door. "I will be just outside. I will not leave you alone." He said, stepping behind the giant wooden door. He left it ajar, and stood in front of it with his back turned. That way, she could see his silhouette and still have privacy while she was fitted with spare clothes. | |

| Anthy was taken to the room and seemed nervous watching him go but did not want to make him worry again. This man had been kind to her, and now was apparently to shelter her perhaps he was waiting her her to heal before certain things... but considering what she had gone through before the terms of this were more than acceptable. This room was much more grand then any she had been in before, the servant woman helped clean the dirt off and dress her in spare simple gowns but still nicer than what she had worn previously. She was gently ushered into the bed without too much fuss and as always she kept checking to make sure the man was nearby.
The servant woman left nodding her head "best she rest tonight, perhaps in a few days she will be right as rain my lord. She seems.... attached to you"

| Ulrick turned to the servant and avoided looking into the room as he listened to the old woman beside him. "I helped her out of a terrible situation. She must be clinging to whatever makes her feel safe." he said, tapping his chin in thought. He doubted she would want to stay at Seagard forever. Certainly she would seek out a more familiar environment and return to Essos. "Thank you for your assistance, good woman. We will leave the lady to her rest." Ulrick dismissed her, and nudged the door open again. He stepped inside and approached the bed, grabbing a chair to sit on. He sat down, wrapping his coat about him, and gestured towards himself. "I am Ulrick of House Mallister." he told her, then pointed at her, "What might I call you, my lady?" | |

| She was lying in bed not asleep yet but being in such a comfortable place made it very hard for her to deny herself sleep. Hearing him come in she sat up a little watching him as she tilted her head when he spoke to her. It took a moment for her to understand what he mean but realization dawned on her and she nodded her head gently lift a hand to lay it upon her chest "Anathia Baelalos tala se Asshai" remembering that the people of the west often had troubles with her native language she decided to shorten it to the nickname one of the slaves had given her ".... Anthy" | |

| Though he couldn't understand most of what she said, he recognized Asshai easily enough. Admittedly, her language was very soft and melodic, and he wouldn't mind hearing it more often. "Anthy." he echoed, hoping to get the pronunciation correct. "This is Seagard." He gestured around to the room, hoping she'd understand that too. Even if she didn't completely understand Westerosi, she seemed to figure things out very quickly. | |

| Anthy smiled and nodded seeming to understand as she settled in this new bed it was a hundred time more comfortable than the rickety cart full of straw she had been in previously. Her shinning eyes looking him over, he was pale as ivory but his armor was blacker than night. She found him to be a curiosity but would leave such further inquiries until she was stronger. Closing her eyes slowly she whispered a soft "thank you... "

| Ulrick chuckled at how fast she seemed to fall asleep. Though, she did have a trying day and was still healing. He quietly stood from his seat and pulled the covers up to her chin, to make sure she wouldn't be cold while she slept. He stoked the fire in the hearth across from her bed until it was a decent size, and left the room. Before he closed the door, he muttered, "Good night, my lady." Once she was shut in her new room, Ulrick straightened himself and headed for the hall downstairs. There was much to be done that day before he retired himself. | |
