Oron tapped along the wall with a stick, searching for weak spots and good places for gripping. There was only so much of the forest that pushed up against the wall to work with so he had only so much of an area to start climbing in. The wall had started weeping. The sides were slick in many places, which only limited him more. What started as a mere annoyance had turned into a string of muttered curses. But finally--FINALLY--he found a spot that was still dry and filled with enough holes for him to start on his climb. He cast his stick aside and tested out his grip, grinning now that he was ready to go.

"Watch out kneelers, Stronghand's after your daughters~!" he laughed to himself, staring up at the edge of the Wall.

"Stupid crows, as if life wouldn´t be hard enough for our folk. No, they just had to do this too." Muttering to herself she cursed that damn crows. Thanks to them, some animals prefered to live near the wall what was more than dangerous for someone like Naerys, a free woman or how the crows like to call her kind, a wilding. Even though she was happy to have her hawk close to her what normally gives her a feeling of safety, she just felt uncomfortable. What if she would run into a crow again? Or worse, what if she would run into that crow again. Without realising until it was too late, she broke an arrow in two with her hands.

When she was able to finally snap out of her thoughts she noticed how close she was to the wall now. Too close. She hid behind a tree and looked around, searching for crows but it seemed that none of them was to be found. But then, suddenly she noticed something right at the ground of the wall. Finally someone else besides a damn crow. Just then she realised how dangerous it was to be that close to the wall, alone! So she ran towards the stranger and started to talk to him when she was just behind him. "Are you crazy to be that close to the wall all by yourself?" She grabbed the unfamiliar person on the coat and tried to drag him along, back to the forest.

"Wha in tha blazes--" Oron felt a tug on his coat, and turned to look at a young woman scolding him. Despite her best effort, he was as immovable as the Wall itself and remained where he was. He looked back up at the edge, and said, "I dinna know wha yer talking 'bout, woman. This time a' day? No crows roost 'long this stretch." But he let her lead him away, anyways. He was surprised to see anyone else so close to the Wall these days. Less and less of them had been eager to face a crow since the fight turned poor for them ten years past. But nothing had dampened his spirit. "And yer one ta talk!" he told her, pointing a gloved finger at her, "Yer here, ain't ya?"

At first she ignored his words. That close to the wall it was neither the right place nor time for a conversation. When they finally were back in the woods however she continued to talk. "They are crows, they do stupid stuff like popping up when you totally don´t want them to all the time." She let go of him and crossed her arms, looking up to him. Compared to Naerys he really seemed big even though she wasn´t really a slim and tiny woman. "Well if you´re hungry you start to risk the dangers from time to time but trying to climb up the wall all by yourself really is crazy."

"Oi, I ain't mad, I been doin' this since I was a wee lil' thing." Oron huffed, shrugging. "I can slip by them crows easy 'nough. Crows ain't as smart as they'd like ta be." He laughed heartily, grinning down at her. "Aye, hunger makes a person do things they might not usually do--or ought ta." He'd felt the hunger pains before himself, when game was scarce. Once he'd been hungry enough to go toe to toe with a snow bear. That earned him a few scars. But those were marks of pride for him now. He'd beaten two foes that day. "But they've got plenty a' food down south, with them kneelers. They all have more'n they need." He readjusted the few supplies he'd taken for the trip over, making sure they were all secure. "That's why I'm headin' over. Need to find a lass of my own."

Naerys was more than suprised. "You - You made it on the other side?" Immediately her eyes began to sparkle and she grabbed his hands. "Could you show me the way? I always dreamed of seeing the other side since I was small." Even thinking about how it would be beyond that wall made her heart race. How wonderful it would be to have permantly food, to experience what a so called lake or sea would be like, oh and the clothes! Even though she didn´t want to admit it, Naerys had a lot of girlish feelings and needs inside her, including the desire of a fancy light dress, a good looking man could strip her out.

Oron blinked at the change in attitude of the young woman. So serious, and now so excited like a greenling on their first hunt. He let out a hearty laugh, slapping his knee. "Well ain't ye an eager one, lass!" he boomed, "Aye, I can take show ye the way. Even better, I can take ya up on me back." He nodded, stretching. He had enough strength for both of them. And she looked light enough, anyways. He'd hauled heavier things on his back up mountain trails and ridges. "That is, if'n ye got everythin' squared back home. Won't be makin' no trips back for months." He warned her.

Naerys looked at him raising a brow. "On your back? Seriously?" She let go of his hands and put her bow back. "I can take care of myself thank you." Though she had to admit it for sure would be much more comfotable for her she still had her pride.
"Well I definitely have to go home for a while so would you be able to wait or do I have to take you with me?"

Oron scratched his chin, thinking. The Wall would stand and the kneelers' daughters would still be on the other side. A little waiting wouldn't hurt. "Aye, I can wait a bit." He chuckled, adding, "What, take me home? You tryin' to steal me for yerself, woman?" He found the thought of being stolen amusing. Not often a woman did that, so far as he knew.

Naerys rolled her eyes. Men! "Sorry to disappoint you but don´t plan to do anything like that. Now be a good biggie and come with me." Without waiting for neither a respond nor any kind of action she started to walk back in the direction of the forest.

Oron laughed at her reaction. This was going to be an amusing trip to...wherever her home was. "Just fooling with ye, lass." he told her, catching up easily with only a couple of strides. "Name's Oron Stronghand, by the way. What's yers?"

"Naerys, Naerys Deathbird. Pleasure to meet you Oron." Naerys replied to him without looking back. She let out a little sigh. It was a long way home and due herself and her brother didn´t want to be caught and slaughtered by the crows that soon and easily.

"Aye, it is for most womenfolk!" Oron chuckled at his bad humor, "Now, what exactly's got ye so eager to go over that wall, mm? Riches, pleasant weather, someone nice to warm yer bed for ye?" It was usually one of those three. Or all of them, in his case.

She rolled with her eyes. A ladieskiller. Great. "Why don´t you try to guess?" Naerys said with a smirk. She thought it would take him a bit time since neither of his suggestions was really fitting. Well maybe the weather but she wouldn´t risk her and her brothers life for some warmer temperatures.
