A Strange, New Land (Tag: Akhesa)

"Wow.  Sounds beautiful," said Kayley.  Winterfell didn't have a lot of gardens.  Since it was so cold up there, there weren't a huge variety of flowers.  It didn't seem like that would be the case with Dorne, though.  It was so warm here, flowers probably bloomed year-round.  Kayley wondered if she could take some back with her to Winterfell.  Would they be able to survive that far up north?  She would have to ask Akhesa about it later.

Akhesa smiled snuggling into Kayley "It is, if the palace were given human form all men would bow before her beauty" letting out a soft yawn looking over at the others dancing away before she nodded her head and waved them off leaving the two of them alone in this room of lustful debauchery. As she stroked her fingers back and forth along Kayley's side "but I shall just relish you company"

Kayley had to smile.  Akhesa seemed to compliment her at every turn.  She still didn't know what she did that made her so beautiful to Akhesa, but she decided she might as well enjoy the praise.  Akhesa was really the first person outside of her friends and family that thought she was beautiful.  Kayley wasn't exactly the type of girl that could make mens' heads turn.  "Ooo, I'm honored," she said with a little giggle.

Akhesa snuggled into Kayley lightly for the moment "I am glad, you are enjoying yourself and here I thought the brothel trip may have scared you. Forgive me my mother says that me and Soma should have been the children of her uncle. To be honest I never got to meet the man he died long before I or Soma were born. His daughters though at least the younger ones were the constant companions to me and Soma" she said softly smiling as she looked up at Kayley "Now you must tell me about Winterfell and this 'snow' thing"

"Well, it was...different.  I"ll say that much," Kayley said with a laugh.  "But different things can be fun.  Besides, if people just stick with what we've always had, we'd never get anything new."  No doubt Kayley would be trying lots of different things here before she went home.  "Not sure where to start on that," Kayley said.  "I feel like it's kind of the opposite of Dorne.  We have to bury ourselves in fur coats half the time.  We tend to have direwolves for pets instead of cats.  But I guess the snow is always nice.  It's...kind of hard to describe, though.  It's like rain, but colder.  And it sticks to everything: Your hair, your clothes, your shoes.  It does make the landscape pretty, though.  It's almost like the trees and the hills are covered with a bunch of sugar."

"The opposite of Dorne?" Akhesa made a face then playfully stuck out her tongue like a little girl before chuckling and shaking her head looking to Kayley "ugh... well at least you will be there and the sugar covered trees sound sound delicious" she teased with a smile before moving to interlock her fingers with Kayley's "but for you my lady I shall brave the harshest winter, after all it should be fun~ you will have to keep me warm though or I fear my toes will fall off. Besides the plan of kissing you under an ancient tree is too temptingly romanticly sinful to pass up"

"Snow does actually taste pretty good," Kayley said.  "It's not really sweet like sugar is though.  It's more like...really, really cold water, I guess."  You really couldn't go through snow without eating at least some of it.  At least, Kayley thought so.  "Don't worry, I won't let your toes fall off," she said with a laugh.  Akhesa's room would probably have to have a fire going in it constantly, though.  Or, at least most of the time.  Winterfell never had days as hot as Dorne.  She did have to agree with Akhesa though, that kissing under an ancient tree did sound romantic.  "That'll probably involve sneaking away when my parents aren't looking," she said.  "Don't worry, though.  I've done it before."  After all, Kayley had sneaked away from a good portion of her womanly duties lately to watch her father sword-fight.  It had kind of become a favorite past-time, at this point.  Until she learned how to sword-fight herself, watching her father do it was as close as she could get to it.

"Mmmm hehe so you agree to further kissing? well that is a good sign if I do say so myself. Perhaps what they say is right I am a corrupting sinful influence, a few more days with me and I shall have made you a lady kissing, spear fighting goddess to be the envy and fear of all lesser men. But perhaps I get too much of my mother in me, she was very progessive in her youth and encouraged it in me not to mention all other girls she met. Believe it or not Dorne actually still maintains an interesting relationship with the royal line of the Iron Throne. First there was my great aunt Elia who married the Crown Prince Rhaegar, then my uncle Trystane married princess Myrcella and now well...." she smirked and winked at Kayley "im not going to spread that juicy gossip just yet.... you will have to just wait for the surprise. But do not worry my darling she wolf I only have eyes on you"

"If you corrupt people in any way, it's the good kind," Kayley said.  It kind of saddened her, that some people thought Akhesa was just some crazy sex hound that slept with anything that moved.  Kayley felt like she wasn't like that at all.  Sure, Akhesa flirted a lot, but she was also nice, and let Kayley be herself.  She could talk to her about anything.  She didn't really have anybody like that at home.  "There are more surprises for me?" Kayley asked.  It seemed like Akhesa was giving her one surprise after another since she had arrived here.

Akhesa blinked when she recognized that the young lass had no idea what her words had meant at all... this was certainly odd but oh so refereshing to be around a young lady (or person in general) of noble birth without having to play the game of intrigue. Kayley Stark seemed to be well.... an adorable adventurous willful young woman and that was it, she had only been around one other person like that before. Looking at Kayley now she could almost see the similarities in the two women, and became quite quiet.... before shaking her head slightly drawing herself back into the present as she smiled softly leaning in to kiss Kayley's cheek "Mmmm yes you are too adorable when you blush, I must come up with many excuses to have you do so. Perhaps I shall compose a song just for you"

She teased lightly then grinned a wicked look in her eye "and then I shall have bards singing it from dorne to the wall, oh that would be scandelous wouldn't it? A dornish princess declaring passion through song to a princess of the north. I believe it would very well kill my grandfather on the spot from the shock of it all"

Kayley laughed.  "At the rate I'm going, people will think my face looks like a cherry all the time whenever I'm around you," she joked.  Akhesa did always seem to know what to say to make Kayley blush a little bit.  But Kayley didn't mind so much now.  It was Akhesa's way of showing affection, really.  People had different ways of showing it.  Kayley's mother showed her affection by listening to her father's troubles, or making sure his things were properly packed before going on a journey.  Akhesa showed affection by making comments that made Kayley blush.  "Maybe we'll have to settle for a private serenade," she said, smiling.  Although the idea of Akhesa writing a song for her sounded sweet, even though people would think it scandalous if they knew what it meant.  Kayley wondered if she should mind what people thought about it, though.  Things were already changing so much in the Seven Kingdoms.  A queen now sat on the Iron Throne, instead of a king.  Women had joined the ranks as some of the best warriors in the land.  Maybe, the way people saw love could change too.

Akhesa smiled leaning in before bowing her head to Kayley as she teased her fingers down Kayley's side with a lovers gentle touch before humming softly before singing out teasingly

"She kicked and wailed the maid so fair, but he licked the honey from her hair~"

Giggling softly as she sang the beginning parts of the very naughty love song of the bear and the maiden fair. Only to shake her head at that

"No... that shall not be it... we need something better besides I believe that one is taken.... hmmm"

Akhesa seemed to think a moment before smirking as she leaned humming a lovely little tune as she let Kayley go to gently set her upon the cushions as she herself stood walking around the room as she picked up a lap harp left by one of the girls gently strumming the tune she had hummed. Akhesa was a passable musician it was her voice and compositions that were her true talent.

"I came by a house last night,
And told the woman I was staying
I said to her
The moon is bright and the dire wolves are playing~"

Turning to look at Kayley with a wink before setting the harp back down only to think on the lyrics it was fun for her to try to come up with things "now.... lets see..."

"Never mind the rising light,
There's no sign of day or dawning
In my heart...."

Pausing a moment as she frown then giggled "I cannot think of something suitable to rhyme with light or dawning"

Kayley leaned into Akhesa's touch, and couldn't help but smile at the sound of her singing voice.  It was pretty good, after all.  Kayley felt like she could listen to her sing all day.  Akhesa soon left her side though and started to sing along with a harp, and Kayley had to admire her skill at it.  While Kayley could sing pretty well, instruments befuddled her.  There were always too many keys, or too many strings, and she could never remember which one produced which note.  "Afraid I can't help you there," she said.  "Song-writing isn't my forte."

At that Akhesa smiled shaking her head as she moved to fasten the collar of her dress back on covering herself with a wink to Kayley before she stretched with a soft moan "Mmmm I shall have to work on it... until then you and I will simply have to live it"

Holding her hand out to Kayley with a smile "Come now, lest you want to spend your first night in Dorne in a brothel house. I wont make you wear the blindfold this time... unless you want to" teasing Kayley once again

Kayley gave a little laugh.  "I think I'll go without the blindfold this time," she said as she slipped her hand into Akhesa's.  She kind of wanted to see the scenery this time as they made their way back to the palace.  Of course, she was sure that none of the scenery would be as pretty as Akhesa was.

Akhesa gently led her out into the beginnings of the dornish night where the whole city seemed to be taken over by the moons silver glow. Having taken Kayley the back way out exiting into a small ally, spices and perfumes drifting on the air.

"Come..."

leading her out of the ally to the city streets, the bazaars were winding down and there was a wind blowing through the town with a smile "you should see it during the dawn... the city turns from silver to gold, if you wish to remain hidden we must take the back route"

Things did seem a lot quieter now that it was nighttime.  Although Kayley was surprised to see that she and Akhesa weren't the only people out.  Back at Winterfell, everyone was inside by the time it got dark for fear of what lay outside.  Wolves, bears, animals like that tended to be more active at night.  Or at least, they seemed a lot more frightening.  Kayley doubted there was anything like that here at Dorne, though.  What was the most frightening thing they could come across?  A stray cat?  A flock of pigeons?  "Do you use the back route often?" she asked.

"Only for the sake of my grandfather, he despises my and Soma's behaviour some days its best we keep it down from him. The day that old codger finally dies then the happier we will all be" shaking her head with a sigh "well do bundle up a little the night is cold and the sudden shift in temperatures can get newcomers unaware"

Kayley frowned.  Akhesa's grandfather didn't sound like a very appealing person.  "Will I run into him while I'm here?" she asked.  If he ever popped up, no doubt she and Akhesa would have to keep their flirtations to a minimum.  Then again, maybe he wouldn't expect such behavior from a Stark.  Maybe she could use any assumptions he had about to her advantage.

Akhesa looked back at her and gave a gentle concerned smile "Well you will have to meet him eventually, while he is mostly bed ridden now there are days he is brought down to dine with the rest of us. My mother will be the new ruler of Dorne soon enough, that should be fun to deal with" chuckling a little before shaking her head.

Well, it looked like meeting Akhesa's grandfather was inevitable.  Hopefully, she would only have to do it a few times she was here.  "What's your mother like?  I don't think I've ever met her," she said.  Was she like Akhesa and Soma?  Or was she a little more reserved?

"Mother used to be a player of the game in her youth admittedly very poorly, she was a great friend to the young poor princess Marcella for a time. Very much a romantic dreamer, but she loved her cousins particularly her septa cousin who was known for her use of poisons" Akhesa giggled leading Kayley along through the back alleys wrapping her nice clothes in her dark cloak she had picked up before leaving moving to put her arm back around Kayley "she settled in her age and gave up on the game to become a suitable princess of dorne but she has allowed much reform under the guise of her fathers name.

Well, Akhesa's mother sounded nice in Kayley's opinion.  She sounded a little more reserved than Akhesa, but at least she still tried to make things freer for other people.  That was a worthy thing.  Kayley often wondered what her little brother would do once he was the lord of Winterfell.  Sure, he was only five and he had a lot of learning to do, but Kayley still wondered whether he would keep things the same or bring about some changes.  "Well, she sounds like an interesting woman," she said.

Akhesa smiled and nodded continuing to lead the way all the way back to the palace into the section where she and her brother slept stopping in the hall to turn to Kayley ".... you should rest my little she wolf" smirking at her as she leaned in to gently brush her fingers along Kayley's cheek "dream of me wont you?" she asked with a wink

Akhesa had a point.  It was getting pretty late.  Kayley needed some sleep.  She had been through so much today, she had barely noticed the time passing.  She gave a little laugh when Akhesa asked to dream about her.  "I doubt I'll be dreaming about anyone else for a long time," she said with a smile.
